I also recently visited on a women's rejuvenation weekend. I expected to have a great time, but I did not ever imagine how great of a time! Justine is an absolute gem! I have never met someone so genuinely caring. She is by far the best host. The cabins were so clean and beautiful.Justine's husband,Mark, did a wonderful job restoring them! The beds were very comfortable. The views from the deck are incredible.
Cook Nadia and Miss Ella made us the most delicious meals! cook Nadia even gave us a packed lunch to take with us,when we left. We offered to take her home but she graciously declined.
Yoga and meditation was very enlightening, which was done by none other that Justine's own beautiful mother Jennifer. Silk scarf making was an absolute treat!
The big canoe ride another fantastic journey.
I felt and got treated like royalty.
Even their dog Kuma, was a gracious host.
I met some pretty amazing ladies while there.
Sadly I did not do a spa treatment, which I intend to do on my next visit.
Clay masks were awesome!
I am already planning for next year. Which I hope to bring more family and friends.
A place I would highly recommend! You will be blown away!
I was part of a fourteen women rejuvenation retreat at Cassiar Cannery recently and had a fabulous time! Justine is an extremely gracious hostess and was so welcoming and kind. The cabins are delightfully restored and well stocked. The beds are incredibly comfortable. The food - oh, the food! There was a wonderful balance of activities, including meditation and yoga run by Jennifer (Justine's inspirational mother), Eco scarf making, mud facials, a big canoe adventure around Lelu island, massages and relaxation time. It was a truly enjoyable long weekend and I would highly recommend it.
I'd choose Cassiar Cannery again, even over a tropical or European destination. The cabins were charming with furniture made from reclaimed wood. The hosts were friendly, accommodating and fun. Scenery amazing!

Just back from an amazing weekend at Cassiar Cannery. Justine, as our host and her staff provided all of the elements that made this a perfect weekend. Our accommodations in the historic and brightly coloured homes were so comfortable from the beds and bedding to the tasteful decor and well outfitted kitchen.
The retreat included:
~yoga and meditation with the lovely, Jennifer
~silk scarf making with the creative, Laurie
~big canoe paddle around Lelu Island with the charming Chris and April
~mud facials with Maggie who added so much to our weekend
~a cooking demo with Nadia who made some of the finest meals and desserts we have experienced
~the option of relaxation massages
Justine was just so accommodating and had all the details of our weekend worked out so all we had to worry about was having fun. Lots of laughs and memories made. Will definitely be booking in again soon!
Something for everyone at Cassiar Cannery!

We had a wonderful couple of days staying at the Cassiar Cannery cottage. We would love to return again, one day!
Justine and Mark who run these cottages were wonderful hosts and their attention to detail is exceptional. i could not recommend this more highly. A wonderful, restful place to unwind and enjoy the beauty and history of a secluded and beautiful place.

Cassiar Cannery is truly and undeniably a very unique lodging. My family and I are very adventurous people and are always looking for the most unique places to stay and Cassiar fit the bill exceedingly well. It is a million dollar view, for less than the hotels in Prince Rupert and in Rupert, you get a very boring stay in a very boring building. We loved everything about Cassiar and we will stay there again. The Steelhead house where we stayed was very nicely appointed and has beautiful first nations framed art that I would love in my home. The large handmade cedar table was a superb added touch for our large family dinner. My girls loved flipping rocks looking for creatures at low tide and playing with Kuma,Betty and Veronica the very docile, gentle dogs. I appreciated the gated entrance which gives your stay that extra feeling of privilege as this is your home while you are at Cassiar. The scenery is exceptional and so nice to be away from the major centre of Prince Rupert. I prefer giving my hard earned cash to a family operation and Cassiar is a family operation.
I am very excited about the VIA rail stop that is possible to organize and that maybe how we get there on our next trip from Edmonton. Memories are not made in the chain hotels. Memories are made when you take and adventure from the norm.
look no further, a million dollar view for pennies per night.

Our second go at this fabulously private getaway and more yet to come ! Such a wonderful space for relaxed sitting and watching of the world going by as the tide gently ebbs and flows beneath the deck. Truly at the end of the road with only the odd train passing by. Great place to practice your "porching", weather permitting enjoy a beverage of choice and get your tan on OR if the weather isn't cooperating, relax behind the glass and still absorb it all in while dry and delightfully warm. Everything provided, only had to bring our own grub and tonic :) we loved every minute of our stay in the Sockeye house with Mark & Justine 's finishing touches. Absolutely recommend the place and the people . Thank you Mark, Justine & Nicholas (oh, and not to forget Betty, Veronica and Kumho )
