When we drove into the campground, we couldn't believe how beautiful it was.
Everything was pristine, the kids had so much fun at the playground, a sandpile full
of toys, a badminton net, swings, slide and even a playhouse. The bathrooms were
so clean along with the showers, they even have a outside sink. The caretakers are
a wonderful couple, so nice and take time to welcome everyone. The atmosphere was
very family oriented. The sites were spacious and had fire rings, tables and chairs.
We really enjoyed ourselves, hope to come back again. Thank you, from the Gillani clan.

My family and I stayed at this wonderful campground. We found the hosts were so
delightful and answered our many questions on Salt spring Island, like where to go
for good food, places to take the kids and many other topics. Milton was so helpful
when it came to chopping up firewood and even delivering right to our campsite.
Lynn's bubbly personality, along with her easy going way, was a real nice boost to our
trip. I will definitely be giving this campground top marks on beauty, cleanliness and
a place to recommend to all of our friends and family. We will be back and hope that
other people can support the running of one of Salt spring Island's hidden gems. I
also want to comment on the way they keep a check on speeders, who do not take into account the safety of our children and pets. Keep up the good work you two.

Do not visit this campground!!! The owners were absolutely terrible. Coming from two people who only stay at campgrounds. Judging us, we "smell like pot" when we are grown adults, and saying we were fighting when no such thing occurred. Both owners were very rude and were not afraid to loose business. I felt un welcomed and just a horrible vibe from the start. Garden Fairie campground is way better, very welcoming and cozy. DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR MONEY!!!

Hi Abbey,
Thank you for taking the time to write a review.
The people you were talking to were our Managers - not the owners of the Campground.
As the owner I read every review and consult with the Managers no matter what the reviewer says. Sometimes I'm fortunate enough to meet our guests.

Your review was not the normal response we get from our guests so I have taken extra lengths to discuss the matter with the Managers and even some people who witnessed some or all of the interaction that led to your review. From what I could gather the Managers acted according to the guidance I have given them regarding potential guests that may cause unwanted disturbance to other guests. We are a family campground and have no tolerance for abusive people who disrespect others.

When people speed into our campground, have lengthy heated discussions between themselves complete with slamming car doors and foul language and then proceed to berate our Managers with foul language we feel within our right to refuse service for the benefit of others. Especially when other witnesses confirm the actions of the incident. Respect is a mutual thing. If the people who exhibit such a behaviour leave by spinning gravel and accelerating out the driveway it only confirms we have made the right decision.
Everyone has a bad day but we have to ensure that other peoples bad days do not ruin the the vacation of others who may have saved and planned for their vacations all year.
On behalf of our family I apologize for any reference to marijuana smells - the use of marijuana is an issue best left to others.
We agree Garden Faire Campground is welcoming and cozy. We have an excellent working relationship them.
We were all young once. I hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay on our lovely little Island.
All the best,
Ian Kyle

The campground was so awesome! We had 3 lots close to playground and washrooms! The camp ground has everything you need! Water, fire pits, wood, washrooms, parking, and even wifi! They have showers but are limited on hot water and it costs a looney for 4 minutes! Lynn the owner is absolutely lovely and amazing! They hospitality is great. They use golf carts and bring you fire
Wood! We had an issue with fire one morning and Lynn kindly boiled us up some water so we could make coffee and tea.
The only down fall is the hill from town and the hill up and down to the campground. That's only really a problem if your cycling and walking. Would definitely go back!

Hi Adele,
Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. I am so glad you enjoyed your stay. Lynn commented on your visit to say what wonderful campers you were and looks forward to seeing you again.
I hope I can address a couple of your concerns. The shower hot water is produced by an on demand propane burner and was giving us a bit of problems until we could get it serviced. The system is serviced and working to full capacity with a new burner on the shelf if needed. Fresh water is becoming a resource we are needing to conserve on our Island and we try to do our part by timing shower water use. The hill between our Campground and the town of Ganges is definitely a challenge and the public bus service (with a bike rack) that stops at our entrance cost $2.25 to almost anywhere on the Island is a great way to get around and see the Island. Cab service is also available. Just ask at the office and our host will be happy to help you with schedules or calling a cab.
Thanks again Adele and if you have any other concerns , comments or suggestions on how we can improve your next stay please feel free to contact us any time.

We (a group of three) stayed here for two nights from April 22nd-24th and had the best time! The hosts were more than friendly and accommodating. They were downright wonderful, helping us find a site, bringing over firewood (even giving us a lift up the big hill with our heavy packs and gear) and just being generally pleasant, friendly folk.
It is not a particularly rugged campground, having well-maintained, clean bathrooms, coin-operated showers (with lovely hot water), a dishwashing station and even a little store with matches and tinfoil and the like. We definitely came over-prepared!
It took a little bit of wandering around to find a suitably treed campsite we liked, because it is a fairly open space. But we found a lovely cozy site that happened to not be far from the bathrooms and office.
We were on foot, and even though it rained for half of the weekend we had a really fun time. We were able to catch the bus from the ferry straight to the campground and walk or hitch down to Ganges with no problem.
I would say if you have any doubts about this campground, I urge you to give it a shot! I guarantee you will be con-tent with your choice!
