“Fantastic trip!”
Reviewed 11 November 2011

Had a fantastic time with Jamies tours in the Summer. We went on the whaling trip and saw so much wildlife. We saw hump back whales and grey whales. the boats go as close as possible but are always very careful about the whales safety. There is a running commentary from the captain giving local information as well as information about the wildlife. We also saw other wildlife including sea otters and sea lions. It did get a bit choppy for a land lubber like myself but the crew were fantasic and made sure that people were warm enough and as we were at open sea so that can't be helped. We also went on the bear trip which again was very good and the crew try very hard to make sure that you do see something. We saw 2 bears down by the water's edge and the crew try to give you as much information as possible. We also saw lots of bald eagles as well. Only thing is that the boat can obviously not get too close as it can be quite shallow. We had to laugh though as on the way back to Parksville we saw 2 bears by the roadside who then wandered past our car. Lady luck was clearly with us that day! So all in all a great day with sights and experiences that I may never have again.

“Excellent, couldn't have been better”
Reviewed 30 October 2011

We were booked onto the hot water springs tour which was unfortunately cancelled due to high winds. The staff could not have been more helpful in trying to arrange an alternative means of travel for us, offering to phone the air operators for us. We decided instead to book onto a Bear viewing tour as we had been let down by a different viewing operator. The boat pilot said they had a good record of seeing Bears lately so we were hopeful to get a sighting. We arrived back that afternoon and were kitted out and given the safety briefing before setting out in the rib. The rain was heavy but their weather gear was up to the job. On the way out of the harbour we saw Bald Eagle's and Porpoise. Once at the cove we saw one lone adult Bear and then got a very exciting call to say Killer Whale's had been spotted so we went in search of them and were not dissapointed. We spent a long time observing the Whales before going on to view more Bears. We saw a further 5 Bears and cubs. Perfect. The guides were knowledgeable and we spent more time on the water than we were meant to. The staff seemed genuinely enthusiastic. I think the Pilot's name was Myra?, she was friendly, professional and we felt safe at all times. Cannot recommend highly enough.

“Lots of Fun”
Reviewed 28 October 2011

Jamie's was a great tour operator to go with - they had hot chocolate on the go for those cold pacific winds, and knew where to go to see the best whales breaching, all while maintaining the appropriate distance. I recommend them if youre in Tofino.

We were in Tofino over Canadian Thanksgiving and went whale watching on a rainy Saturday on their boat the Levanthian. We chose this boat as you could sit inside plus, out of the rain it was equipped with a washroom. October is really at the end of the whale watching season, the Orca's and Humpbacks had already gone south but we had a great trip nonetheless. We got quite close to a couple of resident Grey whales and watched them for awhile, we also saw sea lions, sea otters and a bald eagle. Jamie's Whaling Station guarantees whale sightings which is great as it is not a cheap excursion however, worth every penny. The staff were very informative. Do dress warmly and bring a camera.

“5 bears. Yes!!”
Reviewed 30 September 2011

Early start but well worth it. 4 of us on the zodiac boat plus the skipper. We found a bear and it was so peaceful you could hear each stone the bear turned over.We then found a mother and 2 large cubs. All staff delightful and coffee at the end back in the office.
