We had a wonderful time at the Lodge, enjoying not only the great winter storms and hikes in the rain, but the hospitality of the staff was outstanding. Meals were also a highlight. The unique free night and the $100 meal credit were a nice surprise.

Room Tip: The pet friendly rooms are perfect if you have one. Ours stayed home due to arthritic hips, but we thought of him every day and how much he would have enjoyed it.

I am delighted that you took advantage of our 1,2, 3 special. We are offering the package earlier this year so guests can come and enjoy our wonderful winter weather. Sunshine today with a high tide and huge waves 100 ft. from the great room!
Thank you for visiting us.

I was given a gift certificate to this place. We went to a standard room.
The first time we stepped into the lobby, we can smell the strong barbecue sauce coming from the kitchen. The smell just lingers up to the third floor where we were booked. It was annoyingly too strong of a smell.
Our room is facing the parking lot. We can hear the noise from outside. The room itself is small but the washroom is big. The room is typical of other hotels we've been too. It's clean and the bed was comfortable. The robes though are a bit overused. There are threads sticking out on the edges. The containers for the shampoo, lotion, conditioner is so stiff/hard that it is so hard to take the contents out.
There are more than 2 packets of coffee and a variety of tea provided in the room. This is awesome!
The hot tub/pool is a walk from the main building; very small.
The gym is in the same building as the hot tub and also small.
The food is okay though the mussels/clam dish that I ordered is too salty but my husband's beef tenderloin is good. It is pricey as well.
The buffet breakfast is good but does not include any hot foods. It is complimentary.
The beach is great but there is really not a lot that you can do because of the big waves. You can walk along the beach basically.
The staff are friendly.

Room Tip: Choose a room not facing the parking lot as there is no view and noisy.

After reviewing your comments, regarding "smells coming from the kitchen," we have reviewed the whole F and B situation and hired a new Chef. Thank you for the feedback.

We won a night and bought a night! We loved our room and every single person who interacted with us (Staff) was amazing, warm and friendly. Some went out of their way to make us comfortable. The great room was beautiful, the food was a bit overpriced for the quantity but everything was good. Going back in March ! Will definitely recommend. It would be nice if there was a spa attached to it.

Room Tip: First floor rooms of the Lodge do not have a good ocean view because of shrubs, we had third floor, great view !

Room was well appointed but some badly designed basics, only one towel bar in bathroom, small plastic hooks for large bath robes, shower was not great, either too hot or too cold, hard to regulate.
Bed was very comfortable, room clean. Utilities such as kettle and tea making equipment not very good, short cable from kettle meant you had to unhook light to plug in. Otherwise good room, very friendly staff. Restaurant was lovely but overpriced. Continental breakfast was very good.
Wonderful view.

I am happy that your visit was good overall.
If you were in a deluxe beachfront, the second towel bars were removed because guests were constantly pulling them out of the wall, grabbing them to climb out of the soaker tub. The one bar, we felt, is long enough for two towels. There is never a shortage of towels, as there are extra towels stored in baskets, under the open vanity. The hook on the back of the door, like all the hardware, is anodized metal.
If you would email me directly, with your room number you stayed in, I will have the shower issue addressed immediately.
I always remind guests, that if there is anything we can do to ensure that you have the best possible visit, please contact the front desk, and we will be delighted to assist you. No problem is too small.
Best wishes for 2012 and thank you for your comments.

My daughter & her beau were married this past weekend and opted for the package deal offered by the lodge. It was a very warm & friendly atmosphere & sleeping in a bed on the beach where I slept in the 60's was a very different experience. While the lodging, food and views were amazing they were eclipsed by the warm & friendly staff, that bent over backwards to make this a quality stay. The wedding planner Tracey & our server Tariq went way over & beyond to ensure all our wants & needs were met. My daughter & her husband took surfing lessons from Ryland & I've got pics of them both getting up on board.....which they never thought would happen.
Overall a great time and a big Ontario hug for all the staff that made it so....see you soon

Room Tip: stayed on the surf side rooms next to the great room.....close to the food & not to far to stumble after a few

Congratulations to the bridal couple. It sounds like they should take up surfing!
I know that Tracey, Tariq and Ryland will really appreciate the nice mention. We often get comments like yours that say that while the hotel and location are great, it is the wonderful staff that really make the visit memorable.
Thank you and best wishes to your whole group for a wonderful New Year.
