We've been eating at the Schooner Restaurant for well over 3 decades. Have had breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner many times here. It is always great.
Loved it years ago when they developed the Upstairs portion of their restaurant. Had possibly the best rack of lamb ever when we went a few years ago.
So it was with great anticipation that we stopped in the Schooner for lunch this week. while on Spring Break. Currently only the Upstairs portion is open but that suited us fine as it is one of the best views in town.
They had a variety of oysters on special and our son loves oysters. He had the fried and Nami Nori ones and said they were absolutely outstanding.
I was totally craving a burger and noticed there is now one on the menu; didn't recall there being one before. Sounded good but honestly when it arrived and I bit into it I was absolutely gob smacked at how awesome it was. This is, was and may forever be the best burger I have had anywhere, at any time. The patty was a mix of pork, bison and beef. The toppings included bacon and a cheese. It was breathtaking. I loved it. Came with salt and pepper onion rings. I would go back to Tofino only to have this burger again.
We have always loved eating at the Schooner, it's part of visiting the West Coast for us. We look forward to our next meal there!
