We enjoyed the Fish chowder and the Clams and Mussels that we had. Well cooked and flavourful. Of course the beer is always great. I would call it more a Yuppie, health conscious restaurant.

Had been looking forward to this place and though the food was good, the service was shoddy. Our soup was slapped on the edge of the table 3 minutes after our appetizer of oysters arrived. The shrimp main and the soup tasted exactly the same. Bad info on the wine, told the wine grapes came from the Okanagan which we knew they hadn't and was a disservice to the Vancouver Island winery. Bill was wrong. And got seated next to the toilet (on our anniversary - not their fault but the icing on the slumping cake). Come on guys! You can do better.

Had lunch at SoBo and REALLY enjoyed the margaritas!!! Food was also excellent. We had the baked oysters appetizer that was fantastic and a couple other small plates that were excellent. We were tempted to try the Key Lime Pie but were too full! Great place to eat!!!!!

In driving and vacationing through all the larger towns on Vancouver Island this was our favorite restaurant.

The open fresh atmosphere of the restaurant was very nice and there was a small area outside for children to play. The decorations were primarily several beautiful art pieces from local artists that were for sale and the service was excellent. You could see into the kitchen which was interesting and the restaurant had a nice full bar with stools where you could also eat.

The food was excellent and for lunch we had a very good margarita(we were on vacation) the chicken enchiladas, the seafood chowder with lots of seafood, and the best cornbread I have had in years. We topped it off with their famous key lime pie that was as good as in Key West.

The menu was very interesting and we ended up buying the cookbook from owner, operator/ sometime hostess and author Lisa Ahier.

If you are ever in Tofino definitely try SOBO

Nice little place with good food. Had noted their cookbook in bookstores. Reasonable food and service and relaxed atmosphere. Expected a . bit more high end as they have their own cookbook but certainly very acceptable food and service. Worth a visit,
