“Perfect!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 February 2012

I booked a room at the Fairmont Pacific Rim to celebrate an anniversary and I could not have made a better choice. Everything was perfect from the moment we walked in. I had spoken with the concierge a couple weeks beforehand and had asked for rose petals, sparkling wine and chocolate-covered strawberries to be ready when we walked in, and even though we checked in fairly early it was all ready and waiting. We stayed in a Harbourview room that gave us a great mix of the city lights and the waterfront. We continuously marvelled throughout the trip about all of the added features in the rooms, including the rain-head shower, the amazingly comfortable beds, the turndown service and bottle of water and ice that was waiting for us when we got home from dinner, the fact that the lighting and drapery was controlled by panels throughout the room, and so much more. We ordered breakfast to our room and it arrived right on time and was absolutely delicious...probably the best cinnamon buns we'd ever tried! All of the service throughout the hotel was very prompt, we never waited for anything. And the staff was extremely polite, professional and helpful in every way. Our only regret is that we only stayed one night and didn't get a chance to sit in the lobby bar and listen to the piano or visit the pool and hot tub. However, we are already planning to spend our next anniversary at the Fairmont Pacific Rim, and the next stay will definitely be longer!

Great room. Only small issue is the light switches which are high tech and take time to understand

My wife and I got married at the Fairmont Pacific Rim, and we've stayed here a few times since. The accommodations are spectacular, with every room amenity you could imagine, great views, and courteous staff.

The hotel's location is within walking distance of most downtown features (shopping, arts, restaurants) and very close proximity to Stanley Park.

My wife enjoyed her visit to the Spa, we both enjoyed our brunch at "Oru", and we would highly recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Vancouver. Although its expensive (everything in Vancouver is!), it's well worth the pampering.

Room Tip: Get a room facing the water/Stanley park!

This hotel is the pinnacle of customer pampering, from routine services to the on-site spa. The fitness room, with Technogym equipment (love the wave machine!) is several cuts above what I've experienced at other higher end hotels. Also, *both* on-site restaurants, one Italian themed, the other Japanese themed, are superb, unlike the case at many hotels where the on-site restaurant has 'last-resort' status. The vibe throughout this posh hotel, enriched with gorgeous granites (some with labradorite inclusions!) and marbles, is super modern, high tech, stylish. Check out the 'electric mirror' in the bathroom, which is a TV embedded within the mirror, with Bose speakers, of course. All lighting is touchpad controlled: welcome settings, relax settings, night light, etc. The drapes are also automated, and the balcony affords stunning vistas onto the Pacific and 'Canada Place', the Vancouver Convention Center. This has to be the nicest, and largest, convention center I've ever experienced (and I attend many conventions). By the way, the room is serviced in the evening (turn down service, ice bucket, fresh towels/cups, etc.) as well as in the morning. The daily paper is at the door each morning. The buffet breakfast in the Oru restaurant, though a bit pricey at $30 (= $40 with tax and tip) was superb. Everything you want, and even fresh smoked salmon. In a word, this place is fabulous. My guess is that the non-convention rates would be pretty steep.

Room Tip: Taxi to the airport is around $30-40.

Nina at the front desk ask if my wife and I were celebrating any special occassion. I replied that this was our 51st anniversary. With that came the hugs....the balloons and treats in our room. The staff constantly called us by name for two wonderful days. We enjoyed being taken by a hotel BMW to the resturants and retrieved again without delay.
Our room on the 19th floor facing the water was splendid in every way.
The location is supurb. just across form Canada Place and the Convention Centre. Easy walking the the highend stores in the commercial district.
Well done to all the staff. Thanks

Room Tip: Corner room facing harbour

I took my wife for a late Valentin's Day, stayed on the gold floor and it was amazing. The level of service out did it self. The only downer was the fire alarm going off and the fridge in the room dying in the night and no repairs while we were there. Had to ask for cream in the morning for my coffee

Stayed here for 1 night en route to Whistler. The hotel is like a modern business hotel but somehow retains a chic feel to it. The rooms are very spacious, spanking clean and new, with a big comfortably sized bathroom. Service was good and professional- valet rushed out to park our car and take our luggage as soon as we pulled into the drive way. People were friendly and helpful and the reception. Location is good- not far from the action of the town, but by the harbour so still quiet and peaceful enough.
Recommended for people who enjoy staying in more spacious rooms and prefer new clean decor.
