The Pan Pacific is located on reclaimed land in the heart of downtown Vancouver; this provides facile access to downtown, gas town, stanley park and the sea wall. Our room was located on the top floor of the hotel, overlooking the city to the South and the bay to the West - affording a delightful contrast between the claustrophobic and bustling city lights with the wistful calm of sea planes taking flight. Additionally, the Pacific lounge complimented the stay delightfully; breakfast was served upon flames of red and slates of ice. Mid-afternoon snack were also available.
While the open water pool facility did embrace the excellent views (see previous paragraph) the length and step placement of the main pool had something to be desired. Similarly, the gym was quite pokey - although both these facets were made up for by minimal uptake of my fellow residence at 6am.
Finally, I would like to make special mention to the staff of the Pan Pacific, especially those in the lounge on the 23rd floor, who made the stay immensely more pleasurable. Nay, their efforts and our trip to the Five Sails restaurant made the price seem just about bearable as opposed to incomprehensible. Thank you for a lovely stay.More
