Excellent

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Aug 12, 2019
We recently stayed here before we did an Alaskan cruise. This hotel is amazing! I've stayed at hotels all over the world and this is one of my favourites. Free wine hour, free fresh pressed coffee. We needed more towels and they were brought to us in 5 minutes. We stayed at a Hilton in Anchorage that didn't even give us toilet paper ( no I'm not kidding) This hotel was absolutely amazing!!!

Very pleasant and helpful staff. Comfortable rooms with nice little extras such as access to chilled water. We had a room at the back which was very quiet. Good location on Robson st , near lots of restaurants and bars.

A very comfortable hotel. Spotlessly clean. Quiet. Very helpful staff. Lovely artwork on the walls. Very good location to be able to get to the main points of interest in Vancouver. Enjoyed our stay very much.

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night before starting our 3 week plus break from the U.K. Although the hotel seemed small we were given a friendly welcome and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We could not get the safe to work and someone came up immediately to sort. It is centrally located to all amenities. The room was a good size, eco friendly and bedding and towels of good quality. I was trying to locate phone number of a relative in Alberta and the concierge was extremely helpful and located it for me. We had a drink in the bar and again staff were friendly. Although we had to leave early next morning and did not stay long I would highly recommend this hotel.

The Listel is a well-run, well-appointed hotel. Rooms are good and comfortable, the artwork's interesting, and each booking (on the gallery floors, anyway) now comes with a complimentary bottle of wine on check-in (if you choose the white, it will be delivered to your room cold) and complimentary morning coffee. That is, there's a coffee machine in your room if you wish to use it, but you can order tall carafes of very very good French Press coffee for arrival at your room in the a.m. at a time of your choosing. Very pampering!

Located on Robson at the Denman end, about four blocks west of Burrard. Lots of good restaurants in the area, and valet service for your car. Parking's $40C per night.

Only complaint, and it's a minor one: the lobby could use some updating.

First, the staff: friendly, helpful, and *thoughtful* staff across the board. The valets were helpful in making sure we knew about temporary road closures, the best way to get to the airport from the hotel, and so on. The front desk staff were super-knowledgable and helpful to both us and to other guests with questions or seeking recommendations. The facilities guy that was repainting trim noticed me waiting for the restroom in the lobby and let me know that there was another available over by the restaurant, telling me where it was located. The housekeeping staff said a friendly hello every time we saw them. This seems to be a really well managed staff and one that seems to like working where they work.

Location: central, walkable to everything downtown, close to SkyTrain, and steps away from restaurants and shops.

Facility is nicely updated; only the bathroom fixtures aren't relatively new, and they're still functional and in good shape.

Pro tip: If your room is on the second floor, make sure you're not right next to the ice machine. The ice buckets are metallic, and noisy!
