The Burrard is a revitalized retro motel in central Vancouver. Location is superb. Restaurants, convenience stores, grocery/markets, and shopping are all very close. Inside in the motel, you will find an updated room with all the modern day hotel features with a touch of retro-inspired flare. Bedroom was comfortable. A portable A/C unit was available to use in the room. Bathroom is small, though. There is a noted lack of shelf space in the bathroom. Overall, a great place to stay in Vancouver, especially since room prices can be quite high in this city.

Loved the witty notes all around the room instead of the boring standard information book. Stayed 3 nights over a weekend and never had any problems with the noise that some people have had. Definitely a fun and unique place to stay, would do it again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our two nights at the Burrard where we found the staff very helpful and pleasant, the rooms chic and unique, comfortable yet stylish, and the location very friendly near the center of town. Easy access to ethnic restaurants, short walk to the Granville Island ferry and within easy reach of most of Vancouver's main sights.

We stayed in a Queen room for two nights and it was perfect. Very very clean, great location, friendly staff - good value for money. We would definitely stay again!

Room Tip: The Queen room was the cheapest but also quite small. If you're staying for a while, go for a bigger room.

We stayed in a 'queen+' room for 2 nights. Although the design of the hotel looks great and all the labels and signs have a funny tagline, the overall quality of the hotel is merely average compared to the price of the rooms.

Some major drawbacks:

Rooms are SMALL. Event the queen + rooms are really small.

The airconditioning in the room (one of those really noisy mobile units) fail to cool the room by even a single degree.

We had a room with windows on the street side. The hotel is situated right opposite the emergency entrance of a hospital which means ambulances with sirens will drive by at least 5 times every night. Keeping the windows closed is not really an option as the airconditioning mentioned above does not work.

The hotel staff has been really creative in listing the room amenities. Expect a 'full seating area' to consist of a chair, a plastic box as a table and a ottoman cramped in your room. Expect a 'stunning bathroom' to be so small you can hardly turn yourself around and lacking in every aspect of 'spa quality' as the website describes. The only "spa-like" feature of the bathroom is that the window is positioned in such a way that everybody walking in the hallway can see you in your bathroom if you leave the window open a bit...

Also, what is the use of a nespresso machine in your room if room service only leaves decaffinated cups behind...

It's not all bad, some positive points:

- The location in downtown Vancouver is excellent.
- Private parking is excellent (at 20$ a day).
- Beds are good (not premium, not luxurious, but good).
- Wifi worked without a problem.
- Rooms are clean.

All things considered I doubt if we would book this hotel on a next trip to Vancouver.
