I stayed here for one night with a few of my friends for a night out. The employees at the entrance were very nice. The ones at the front desk, however, seemed very condescending as my friends and I checked-in with our snowboarding gear. The room we got on the 29th floor was amazing, though. Great view, clean, and comfy beds. Overall a good stay, but hated having to check-in/check-out. Front desk staff was condescending, all others were great and friendly. Also, I never received my final bill. It was supposed to be emailed to me... but that was already 2 days ago, luckily I can check my card activities online... I definitely would have rated this a 4 or 5 had it not been for some staff members.

If you plan on staying here, definitely request a room on a higher floor and hope you get a friendlier staff to check you in and out.

IFantastic friendly welcome and customer oriented attitude.
a double/double and a king. Both very luxurious with crisp linens and a truly comfortable bed with lots of pillows. Bathrooms have seperate baths and showers, granite benches and the softest fluffy white towels. Big (42") flat screen TV, tea coffee making facilities, fridge, desk and chair and armchair with ottoman and side table. 2 x Bedside tables and a selection of lamps including personal book lights attached to the headboard. A gorgeous fluffy bathrobe is provided for use as well. (Interesting fact: most of the furnishings in the room are available for purchase including the bed!) Wi-fi is available in the lobby area at no cost. The buffet breakfast is great too.

This is a nice hotel and well located for the waterfront, float planes, Stanley Park etc. also easy to reach by train from the airport and in the CBD too. Very friendly reception, rooms clean and comfortable. There are plenty of Starbucks if you want to save on breakfasts. Negative points - no washing line in bathroom, no magnified mirror in bathroom and lastly, no films - even though the Guest Service Directory tells you there are.

Room Tip: Ask for sea view

From the initial receptionist through all communications with the front desk as well as other hotel staff, this is among the very BEST in SERVICE in Vancouver with the BEST BEDS !

The beds are amazingly comfortable. The room temperature was easy to manage. Housekeeping did an outstanding job. Always sharply clean.

It's location is a few blocks from the "main centre" of downtown ... taxi to The Bay, for example, was about $7 each way. It is walkable, however it was a bit blustery during this stay, so opted for a taxi. The value in being a few blocks away is that it is a quieter location.

Easy access (short walk) to Waterfront station, where skytrains and the seabus traverse the city from this central point. A very tasty sushi restaurant around the corner. Very (very) inexpensive. Vegetarian sushi dinner was under $10 !

I usually like Marriott Hotels. I was not happy with this experience. I was supposedly upgraded to a one bedroom suite and was assigned to the 5th floor. There was no view, there was no light given it's low placement, surrounding buildings, and of course, Vancouver cloudiness-it was a depressing room. The room itself was tired looking in great need of updating. The room on close inspection was also not clean--there was toothpaste "foam" on the faucet from a previous occupant, visible dirt on the carpet which had been missed by the vacuum cleaner. When inspecting the mattress, I noticed that it was well past it's expiry date and well worn. Also, the 1 bedroom suite is supposed to have 2 TVs. There was a TV in the sitting area, but the TV in the bedroom had obviously been removed. The remote was there, and the table to hold the TV was there, but there was no TV!
Internet service which was part of the conference package was very slow. The shower took about 10 minutes to warm up to a reasonable temperature.
I should mention that as I was leaving, there was work being done on the 5th floor, it appears that I was the only guest on the floor. I saw that they were changing all the mattressess in all the rooms on my wing. I was surprised to see a piece of paper on my door that said: "This Room Is Occupied. Do not change mattress. Quiet please.".I assume it was put there by the maintenance worker who walked into the room the previous evening without knocking.
The pictures of the other rooms look nice. I might give this hotel a 2nd chance in the future, but would ask for a high floor with a view. Very disappointed this time!
On the positive side. If you are booked on the 5th floor, your mattress will be new.

Room Tip: Don't stay on the 5th floor. Ask for a higher floor.
