The best time to see VanDeusen Gardens is in April when the rhododendrons explode in a rainbow of splendor. The deep, brilliant violets, magentas, mauves, pinks, reds and purples, are truly a sight to behold. If you come in the summer, they will have shriveled up and fallen to the ground and you may be disappointed. In the winter, if you happen to be so fortunate as to visit during our rare white Christmases, which occur once every ten years, you will be dazzled by the Festival of Lights. It has a very beautiful effect when snow has fallen. Regardless, whether or not you see many flowers, the gardens are still quite beautiful and relaxing and there are some secluded places where you can sit and read, do yoga, or meditate. There are lakes, a fountain, a maze and waterfalls. There's also a good restaurant on site. A great getaway from the hustle and bustle of the big city. Highly recommended !!!
