“One of the best Hampton Inn's our there”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 January 2012

After my first night at the Vancouver Airport Hilton, I moved downtown. As I had to self fund the weekend in between business stays, I stayed at the Hampton Inn, partly because it was cheap, partly because I wanted the Hilton points, and partly because it was convenient for the NHL at Rogers Arena.

Despite an early arrival, I was able to check in straight away, and I was given a suite. It was, quite honestly, the best room I have ever had in a Hampton Inn. It was larger than my apartment, with a sizeable kitchen, a large living room, and a large bedroom. The bathroom was standard size.

It was spotless - I could not find anything to complain about at all in terms of cleanliness. The towels were large and soft, and the amenities, whilst being the standard Hampton amenities, were plentiful.

The kitchen area was equipped with a dual hob, dishwasher, fridge, microwave, and various electricals. There was also a coffee maker, as expected in any room, with a plentiful supply of sugar and coffee. The living room and bed room both had large flat screen televisions.

The view was nothing to write home about, being as it was of the construction site next door, but this did not affect me at all. WiFi was free and I was able to connect multiple devices - iPad, iPhone and work laptop with no issue.

Location was good - a little further from the airprot Skytrain than I expected, but still only 5 or 6 blocks. I had tickets for the Canucks hockey, and Roger's arena is only about 3 blocks away...very convenient.

I could mark the hotel down on the breakfast - but with Hampton's in North America, you know what it is going to be - it was not exotic, but certainly adequate. The biggest downsize to the breakfast was the horde of screaming toddlers on morning 1, who seems to regard the buffet island as an obstacle to run around, and the fact that on morning 2, I seemed to be the only person at breakfast NOT wearning pyjamas (I was in normal day clothes I hasten to add!).

An excellent property in a great location.

Good location, good free breakfast and free wifi. Had a king suite and it was very comfortable. Only downfall is the construction next door but that was not too bad except when they started early.

We stayed here fro 2 nights with 2 children in a room with 2 queen beds. It was very clean with coffee machine and plenty of room for the 4 of us. Breakfast was also very good especially the make your own waffles. The staff were very helpful with directions and organising transport to the airport for us. The hotel is close to the waterfront and Yaletown with lots of restaurants and shops.

Wish we could spend more time in the lovely city of Vancouver.

This was an excellent value Hotel. We stayed here in July 2011 and it was a convenient location just next to Yaletown. It is walking distance to Gastown and Stanley Park, which we really enjoyed. There were a few drug addicts wandering around this part of town, but we didn't feel unsafe. The free breakfast was quite good too. I would recommend it.

Staying two nights here in vancouver and have two children (5 and 7). The suite we are in is HUGE with kitchen and a great games and fitness centre. There is a coin operated laundry which is super clean and cheap $1.50 per wash. Location is great a close to the sky rail( 2 blocks) and we had its of bags to carry so it really was a easy walk.
Highly recommend this accomm.

Room Tip: Choose a suite for more room to spread out. It could easily accommodate two individual travellers wi...

I booked two rooms and travelled with friends from Seattle for a one night break in Vancouver. The weather wasn`t kind but the hotel more than made up for it and I was really delighted with our choice. I have stayed in countless Hamptons throughout the USA and this was easily the finest.

On arrival we were upgraded to a king suite and the room was huge, clean and very comfortable. Great location right near the main shopping street, great selection of food and indoor stadium.

We used the the games room to play table tennis, fussball and the hot tub and the view from the open terrace was great.

Breakfast was the usual fare but the staff were very cheery and when they heard that one of our young children had a birthday then they came back with a teddy bear for him. Its little points like that which make an impression......well done Vancouver Hampton !!

As first-time visitors to Canada (from Australia), we were most impressed with Hampton Inn Downtown. The hotel is well situated close to many shops and eating places and so close to BC Place and Rogers Arena where our son and daughter went to a Canucks match. The cleanliness of the rooms was impeccable, the breakfast was very good with a great selection, the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Best of all, we appreciated a washing machine and dryer which was reasonably priced and, we discovered, a rare convenience in U.S. hotels in the fortnight pre3ceding our stay in Vancouver. Tours picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel. A taxi to the airport and, on another day, to the Sky Ride at Grouse Mountain was rasonably priced - around $35. Overall, we would highly recommend this hotel.
