We walked several blocks from the apartment to this relatively small Greek restaurant for a quick and healthy meal. After having Saganaki (a grilled block of firm Greek cheese, all crusty on the outside and gooey inside), served with lovely baked pita bread, we enjoyed our healthy entree’s.

I chose grilled Calamari, a plentiful serving of marinated, tender squid along with a Greek salad and deliciously velvety tzatziki. My wife chose the slow-roasted lamb shoulder that was also tender and scrumptious. She also had the salad, which said was the best version she’s ever had, along with potatoes, rice and tzatziki.

Service was very friendly and the dishes were served fairly promptly. Prices were slightly on the high side, but the meal was nonetheless worth every penny.

This small restaurant has a great feel to it. The food is consistantly good!
The Souvlaki skewers are varied, tender and delicious. Salads are fresh and desserts that should not be missed. Our server was attentive and informed. Dinner seating may need a reservation and is well worth it.
There seems to be a regular clientele as it so close to Granville Island shopping and theaters. We will definitely go again!

Apollonia is a terrific find. This is Greek food at it's best. Calamari, grilled squid, humous, tsatsiki and pita with a glass of retsina make for a fantastic meal in a comfortable warm setting with terrific service.

PS: Fasolada soup and roast lamb for lunch is highly recommended.

We have eaten here several times, and got take out last night, as we live close by. Never disappointed. garlic prawns floating in garlic butter that is great for dipping bread. Tzatziki (sp?) excellent. The dinners with potatoes, vegie, etc are typical;; a good deal but I generally do not want that much food. It's shame they charge a bit extra for feta cheese in the greek salad - really? Appetizer, skewer, salad makes for a wonderful meal. chicken very tender - every time. have not tried the other skewers. got greek ribs once; perfectly fine but nothing to write home about.

Went there with a group of five family members, restaurant and it up being quite full but pretty reasonable noise levels making conversations easier than in some of the newer trendy restaurants. The fact that the restaurant was full when we left around 8 PM on a Saturday night suggests that it may be well supported by the local population because it didn't appear that it was full of tourists. Location close to the Granville market yet a bit off the beaten track makes it ideal for those who are willing to walk for 10 minutes from the market area. Now back to the food, we had the grilled calamari which I thought was quite good but others at the table considered excellent. All the table that night at variations on the skewers of food. All were thoroughly enjoyed and the cost of each you were was in the $21-$20 range. The potato and rice and salad accompaniments were quite excellent. Definitely the meal was quite filling so no one had dessert. Compared to other Greek restaurants I've been to this would rate in the top quartile! Certainly worth going to if you're in the area, especially considering the more expensive touristy restaurants in that neighborhood.
