“Fantastic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 September 2009

Stayed at the Club Intrawest for 3 nights. The room was large with a kitchenette and a big walk in shower, with separate bathroom. Our room was on the 29th floor and the there is only glass, ceiling to floor and the views were incredible! The staff are very friendly and there is a bar in the lobby and restaurant. Location wise its right in the middle of downtown, so access to any area is only minutes away. Would highly recommend this place.

4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 July 2009

We stayed at Club Intrawest the 4th of July weekend with our toddler baby in a one bedroom on the 28th floor. The club occupies the top 3 floors of the Sheraton Wall Center building and is part of a 3 high-rise development, a hotel, a condo, and a condo/hotel building. The check in process was somewhat confusing although I read about it in advance yet managed to get confused as well. You need to check in at the Sheraton hotel south tower, while the units are in the north tower.

Once checked in by the hotel, the Intrawest Club manager came to our place and introduced himself to us. They have a concierge office available for the guest, which was very very helpful. Free internet and access to a computer. So no need to bring yours along unless you want it. The units have free internet access.

OK, so the view as you read in the other reviews is simply a killer. Each unit has binoculars so you can see into the distance. Your view (depending on the side your unit is) could be anywhere from the sky slopes to the harbor and North Vancouver to Granville Island. Don't worry too much about the unit side because the views are equally great wherever you end up at. Really. The unit is very well furnished and finished, with all amentias. It has a fridge but no freezer (so no ice cream for you). It has a microwave but no oven cook top (so no boiled eggs for you). It has a dishwasher but no washer or dryer. If you have kids, it does NOT have a dining table but a high bar counter top instead, which is fine but not very ideal with kids. However this is NOT reason not to stay there. Just ask for a high chair and see if they would get you one. We asked for a baby crib and got a nice clean one right away. The room is large enough to put that crib in it. Again this was a one-bedroom apartment with a huge bathroom.

Guests have a free access to the spa and gym and work out equipment so as to the pool and sauna and steam room and Jacuzzi. The pool is an indoor pool but has huge operable windows. It is not the nicest I have seen but good enough.

The Fresh Market is 1 block away from the hotel. It has everything you need EXCEPT for alcoholic products. You can get that from the wine store across the street.

The building is centrally located within 10-15 minute walking to distance to pretty much anywhere you need to be. Taxis are ample and so as public transportation. The hop-on-and-off city tour bus stops in front of the hotel building and for $38 you can get a 2-day pass to see the entire city. NO NEED FOR A CAR unless you are a lazy person. Also the Aqua Bus that takes you across each side of the water front is awesome, fun and cheep.

Before I forget, the building lobby has one of a million Starbucks cafe, a nice hotel bar, a nice hotel breakfast area, and a little gift shop. So you are really all set.

The one drawback next to the check in confusing process is that they do NOT have daily cleaning services as condo/hotels typically do. You have to stay there for 5 day to get one cleaning service. Also they do not have trash chutes in Canada so you have to take your trash down yourself unless you call the hotel to come and pick it up.

I would stay there in a heartbeat considering the rate for what you get vs. stuffing yourself in a hotel room.

I hope you find this review helpful. Feel free to email me any questions or for additional photos [--]

I booked the suite after reading reviews here on Tripadvisor, and can honestly say that the whole experience was superb. Not being a member of the Timeshare associated with this property, I could only book a three-day stay out of the week we were in Vancouver, and even though the rest of my stay was just down Hornby St. at another high-rise, I wished we could have stayed here the entire time. The suite is small, but very comfortable, affording excellent views of the city ( we faced the harbor ) and well appointed. Included was a small kitchenette area, a nicely designed (shower only) bathroom, and a small desk area, in addition to the bed area. The kitchenette had all we needed, right down to a wine cork opener, and as an added bonus, free wireless access with the supplied Intrawest password was provided. All of the amenities of the Sheraton were at our disposal: pool, sauna, exercise room, desk services and luggage storage, and during the day, Intrawest had onsite concierges to guide and advise. For those that expect daily housekeeping, Intrawest does not provide service but once a week, but then when I travel, I usually don't use daily linen sevices, so it was not a concern.

The hotel itself is very centrally located, about five minutes from Robson Street, and within easy walking distance of the harbor, Gastown, Chinatown, Yaletown, and Stanley Park... bus and cab service is also easily available. For food, there was a small IGA supermarket about two blocks up Burrard Street toward the harbor, and coffee shops bordered on the absurd, but the little French cafe on the Hornby Street corner proved to be the best. And for beer lovers, the Yaletown Brewing Company has some of the best beer and ales I've had anywhere.

My advice is, if you can, book it.

A friend booked this hotel for us, excellent choice!!! We stayed on 29th floor with exceptional view of the harbor, snow mountain, downtown and much more. A telescope is provided in case there is something else you want to take a look at. I read some of the reviews, all the good things are true....You can't beat the location and you can't beat the view. My pictures tell it all, take a look. Will I go back? Yes, absolutely.

You need to check in/out at the Sheraton Tower, not downstairs.

This was my first time staying at a Club Intrawest (I read about it on TripAdvisor, of course) and I was thoroughly impressed. This Intrawest is located in the heart of Vancouver and is atop the Sheraton towers. I think they are normally time-share apartments so you get a bit more room and apartment-type amenities than a simple hotel room, which is very nice—especially if you’re there for a few days and want to bring in your own food & beverages. It also allows you to have visitors in a common room with its own restroom while keeping the bedroom separated. The room was appointed nicely with modern furniture, art and fixtures. And the view from the room I was in was amazing (room 3052).

  • Liked — The room and view were great, as well as the hotel location
  • Disliked — no daily rooom service

We stayed for one week on a timeshare exchange with RCI at the Club Intrawest. The hotel has one of the best locations in the downtown area being in the Sheraton Wall Centre Hotel. It is on floors 28-30 in the north tower of the Sheraton.

Club Intrawest guests have all privileges of the Sheraton such as room service, maid service (a $40 per fee for additional service other than the mid-week cleaning if you are a timeshare guest), in room wifi (free for Intrawest guests, just get the password), daily local newspaper delivered to your door each morning, hotel restaurants, Starbucks in the lobby, spa, gym, pool, availability of taxis, tours, etc. Starwood Preferred Guest members can have them input your member number so you can get points on any hotel charges such as meals.

The CI lounge on the 29th floor (limited hours) has a computer, newspapers and tourist info, restaurant menus and a staff concierge. You can also use the services of the Sheraton concierge.

We were in the smallest size unit, a studio apartment (room 2855) with a kitchenette. In the entry way is a closet with a small safe and a recycle bin. The kitchen area is in the entry hall along one wall with a granite counter, microwave, sink, bar size fridge, stainless thermal pot coffee maker, electric tea kettle, toaster and a two person supply of dishes, cups, glasses, wine glasses, flatware and a cutlery set.

The studio units have a small seating area with one chair, a tiny bistro table and two dining chairs. The room has a birds-eye view of the city from the floor to ceiling windows. My only complaint about the unit is that the living area only had the one comfortable chair.

The queen size bed is to one side of the room and was very comfortable with good reading lamps and end tables with drawers. The TV is situated to this side of the room in an armoire that has several large storage drawers. The chaise at the end of the bed also had two large drawers. There is a CD player but no DVD.

The bathroom was good sized for such a small unit with a granite counter, single sink, large walk-in shower, and toilet in a private closet. There was a hair dryer and some nice smelling bath products.

The central downtown location means that most major sights (including the wonderful Stanley Park) are within walking distance. You can also walk a few blocks to the small ferry dock to get to Granville Island.

We loved the city of Vancouver, the great restaurants, Stanley Park and the market at Granville Island and would gladly return to the Club Intrawest (or the Sheraton) due to the great location.

  • Liked — Views of the city.
  • Disliked — Only had one comfortable chair in the living area.

Just returned from our stay at Club Intrawest Vancouver. What a lovely place. We had a 28th floor studio with a wonderful view & a perfect place. From this location we could walk everywhere & we did. The aquabus to Granville Island was just down Hornby Street. Yaletown, Robson Street, and Davie Street were an easy walk away. All the staff we encountered were pleasant & friendly. Vancouver is a beautiful city & this is a beautiful place to stay.
