Description: Our little restaurant is located in the heart of Commercial Drive. A casual and inviting space, run by a close-knit team and a tiny-but-mighty kitchen. Best known for our artful plating, creative use of local ingredients, delicious fresh sushi, and modern twists on Japanese classics. The real magic can be found in award winning Chef Kishimoto's unique seasonal offerings. Fresh, quality ingredients come to us from local farms, foragers and producers, such as wild greens and mushrooms, kelp, organic vegetables, free range eggs, natural poultry and meat, sustainable seafood, and more. We feature a small selection of BC wines and craft sake, alongside imported sake. Premium rice, wagyu and fresh seafood are hand selected and flown to us from Japan throughout the week. Reservations recommended, walk-in welcome.

I've tried many places in Vancouver and Kishimoto has the best portion for it's price. Recommend add one more noodle, and eating in a hurry, service was fine, just don't go expecting a cozy and romantic place. They're always busy and hurry to serve you.

Don't miss eating at this restaurant! Our family just returned from a 2 week (foodie focused) tour of Japan and this restaurant surpassed many of our best meals in Japan! It is authentic, unpretentious, super fresh, beautiful and DELICIOUS! The service is also wonderful. The staff is friendly and accommodating. And don't miss the homemade ice cream/sorbets -- some of the best we have eaten anywhere in the world! We had a hard time not eating at this restaurant everyday we visited Vancouver. I cannot stress enough how superior this place is -- EAT HERE! No matter how long you have to wait - it's 100% worth it!

Kishimoto was recommended as the best sushi on The Drive — we weren't disappointed by the food quality. Super tasty, fun (if, perhaps, a little over-the top) presentation and a bustling happy crowd.

We waited ~ 20-30 min for our table and once we sat down were served and subsequently excused very, very quickly. We would have eaten more and likely had dessert had they not rather abruptly provided the bill.

That to say, the food was yummy and I would probably go back for a tasty and chill sushi dinner.

Our party of 7 arrived 430 to be first on line waiting for opening at 5pm, followed by a long line after us.

Excellent sushi: cured smoked salmon, crispy burnt crust, fatty tuna marinated sashimi. Osaka-style pancake of crushed veggies excellent.

Sashimi seemed coming from defrosted fish; most other fancy looking sushi taste about the same, tempura so-so.

Overall, quite excellent, suited to the young unsophisticated crowd.

We went to Kishimoto on a recommendation and we're glad we did. The sashimi was really fresh and tasty. The salmon teriyaki was fantastic as was the black cod.
