We decided to dine here because it had been so busy the night before. It was busy again so the service wasn't great. The fresh bread, tarama, dolmathes and the side salad were all superb but the huge portion of mousaka was overcooked.

During a recent vacation in Vancouver, we had dinner at Stepho's, a great little Greek place a few blocks from the apartment where we were staying. Hubs had the roasted lamb, I chose the fried calamari dinner, and my son ordered lasagna. WOW. First of all, the service is amazing - knowledgeable about the menu, friendly, and fast. Secondly, the food is delicious! Portions are HUGE. Each of our dinners could have easily fed two people. And lastly, prices were insanely reasonable. This was a great stop.

We arrived and thankfully were quickly seated, as we often saw lines forming (get there early and plan to wait, it is a popular place).

We inquired about the Greek Mojito drink and were told "it really isn't refreshing like a regular Mojito". With that information we ordered one Greek Mojito to try-it-out. The server brought both a regular and a Greek mojito, which is fine. Both were good and refreshing and we gladly drank them. They were also out of Greek beer.
The server must not be a fan of the mojito.

Not the server, or really the host fault but right after ordering they sat a family of 7 with screaming kids next to us. There was another table in the restaurant that was open and I asked the host about moving to that table and was told 'it would create a server conflict'. I asked if the host could work that out on their own so we could move, and we did.

We ordered a few dishes, the feta/olive appetizer and souvlaki and pita souvlaki entrees. All were just average, at best.
The feta/olive appetizer was not creamy, I hope or suspect it is intentionally on the more crumbly however, it also was not tangy. It was rather store-bought bland.
The souvlaki, I had the lamb pita had good flavor but a poor cut of meat, rather fatty and chewy. The pita was break apart overly crispy and, I thought odd as it was served with french fries.

Stepho's was recommended to us by multiple people so it felt unfortunate that the staff was saddled with some rambunctious kids which disrupted the environment. And, it seemed we caught a server and cook where their attention and love for the establishment didn't come through.

With so much variety for eclectic foods I don't suspect I'll return anytime soon

It´s a small place, no luxury and fashion, but you can find typical, delicious and big greek dishes with great prices. The service also friendly and cordial. It is one of those places where you can spend the night with friends having dinner and drinking. Without hesitation I return to continue trying more options from the menu

Ask for the roast lamb center cut and you are in for a delicious meal you will never forget. It is true that the service is not that great, but keep in mind that they have very reasonable prices and they serve lots and lots of customers, so you have be a bit patient. One thing is for sure, the meal is consistently delicious...
