My 10 year old daughter and I booked a half day salmon fishing trip after getting some excellent guidance from Chromer staff on the appropriate tour for us. The weather turned the day before our trip and we had to reschedule for the following day. Unfortunately, we got stuck on Victoria island when the ferry service was shutdown and couldn't make it back in time to fish. The Chromer staff were very understanding of our situation, made every effort to accomodate us and ultimately refunded the entire trip. While we we're disappointed about the circumstances, our experience with Chromer was fantastic and we can't wait to get back to Vancouver for the make up trip.

Went up the Squamish for a weekend of spey casting. Yos and John were awesome. Took extra time to monitor the conditions and give us the best chance of hooking into some fish. Very personable and hands on with excellent teaching when needed. Second day, John came by made a couple of casting tips, changed flies and 3 casts later I hooked into my first of the day! Just amazing! Looking forward to doing it again!

I was introduced to Chromer Sport Fishing through word of mouth and their charitable donations to the Nature Trust of BC. This was my second trip with these guys. The guides are local and know all the hidden spots where the fish are hidding. The conditions were not ideal and we were kindly given the option to cancel with a refund but we decided to give it a go and were rewarded with a bounty of catches. Highly rate these guys – very professional and they take care of everything for you. Top quality tackle and gear. Would not fish with anyone else in BC.

We understand needing to change plans based on weather, but the weather forecast was clear for more than a week and our guide decided to cancel via text less than 24 hours before our trip was scheduled to leave. Very disappointed in this service - we were unable to make any other arrangements because it was so last minute.

Hi Rachael,

First of all we are sorry to have altered your plans, I can understand how that can be frustrating, and I'm genuinely sorry. The cancelation was in your best interest, we had an unprecedented amount of rain over the day before your trip and all our local rivers were in poor condition. We always want our clients to have the best possible experience with us and we want to make sure we have clients in safe scenarios and in water conditions that are conducive to catching some fish! Water conditions on the rivers here in the Pacific Northwest do change, and sometimes can change quickly within a few hours, in your case that is what happened, but we certainly didn't want to give you a crummy day of fishing on a muddy river. We have always been honest and transparent with our clients, and will continue to be so, even if it affords us a poor review like this. Less honest operations could have taken your money just for the sake of a booking and put you in a situation that would have not been very nice or safe. Again I am sorry and hope those of you reading this can understand why the cancellation was made. We should also make it very clear that any trips we offer, cancelled due to water or weather conditions, are refunded in full 100%.

I recently spent a day fishing near Squamish with Chromer. The experience was fantastic! Right from the start Yos made it clear that his priority was to ensure that I had the best day out that he and his team could provide, and he accomplished his goal.

The gear was top notch, and my guide, Jon, was very knowledgeable and patient. It was my first time fly fishing - Jon was a great teacher and soon had me casting fairly convincingly. He provided a wealth of information on the river, and where and how the fish moved in it.

I will definitely be planning another trip with Chromer in the not too distant future.

Thanks so much Sheri and thanks for your patience in moving the trip due to water conditions. We’ll look forward to having you out next time 😁
