This is our all time favourite restaurant in Vancouver. The tuna is awesome. Great for a special celebration or a romantic night out. Excellent wine selection. Highly recommend.

Got there at 615pm., was seated with the reservation right away. Both my guests were a bit late, was offered water and a cocktail while I waited. The way the arrange the menu is very interesting, and changes seasonally. All dishes off the main menu we had from the radicchio to the steak were exquisite. Service impeccable at each dish, desert was very good. No bad things to say at all.

On calling family, who live just south of the border, to say we would be flying into Vancouver to visit them, they immediately said we should book a night or two in Vancouver in order to have dinner at AnnaLena Restaurant and that they would join us.
Well that was excellent advice as this was an awesome place with an impressive menu as well as great wines.
Our table of five chose the tasting menu which was even better than we anticipated, after the descriptions we had be given. Each of the beautifully presented courses was well balanced with flavour and paired with wines chosen to enhance each dish. Discussing the menu afterwards, it was tricky to settle on what dish stood out, as each was so special, though I think my favourite was the mussel dish - mussels out of their shells in a decadent creamy sauce with thyme, preserved lemon & garlic, topped with a freshly baked bread, resembling a grilled mashed potato that one used to soak up the beautiful sauce. What an amazing menu - a true memory maker. Thanks to the chef & staff who made the meal so spectacular.

Wow, it's been a long time since a restaurant wowed me. I had been trying to get reservations here for a while. Finally, due to having tickets to a show in the evening we needed a place to have an early dinner so thankfully we were able to get last minute reservations. I previewed the menu from home and had already decided on the trout but when we arrived I learned that the dishes were served family style or there was an option for a tasting menu. Often times I steer away from tasting menus because I'm pescatarian but our server advised that they could modify a couple courses for me. So happy we went with the tasting menu! There were 7 courses and previously having tried tasting menus there are usually one or two dishes that are hit or miss. Not at AnnaLena! Every dish was perfection. When our server asked what our favourite dish was it was hard to decide but I had to say it was all about the torn bread. They bake a brioche and remove all the crust and tear it up and grill it. It came with our mussel dish and that was also superb. While dining I enjoyed it so much we made reservations in advance for my birthday next month. Such a wonderful meal and the service was wonderful. They never missed a beat and each server was friendly and fabulous. Can't wait to come back!

While the food is very good (try the oxtail stuffed pasta if its on the menu), the attitude of the hostess the evening we went was officious to the point that we almost walked out. Our waitress was coolly pleasant, but the staff had none of the warmth that we know in other Vancouver restaurants. You can have a much nicer evening at other restaurants in the neighborhood or the city with equally good food without the attitude.
