“Relaxing Get-Away!”

The Abigail is a quiet and comfortable B&B. The staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were excellent.

It is several blocks from the waterfront, but not a bad walk to the shops and dining. I would definitely stay here next time we are in Victoria.

We stayed at Abigail's for four nights recently and had a wonderful time.

We were in the main building and had a fireplace room which was full of charm and character. The bathroom has a shower and a jet bath which all worked fine. Parking is free and we were able to get a space every day without issue. We found out when we arrived that breakfast was included in the price of our room, which we had not known and came as a very nice surprise.

It was a little walk to the harbour but it only took 10 minutes or so and we often enjoy a walk after eating and did not find it at all strenuous at all.

We enjoyed breakfast every day and they also put out any leftover scones or muffins after breakfast, we took some for lunch on a few days and this kept us going until the evening. The nibbles they put out in the evening were very nice and there was generally at least four different things you could choose from. Tea and coffee were available whenever you wanted them, in the library or near the breakfast bar. I felt that the staff were most helpful and they made us most welcome.

I would recommend Abigail's if you fancy a bit of old style charm and service with a bit of pampering thrown in.

Room was excellent, great service, very friendly staff. I was surprised at how quiet the hotel was. Normally, anything that says B&B usual means higher noise levels (not so here). Everyone seemed generally interested in whether we had a great visist to their city. That's always good to see. Great appetizers before you head out for dinner. Only drawback was being told as we checked in what a great breakfast they have and it would have been free had we booked the room directly with them. For a $300/night room, you'd think they'd forego the desire to get another $15/head out of you. I'm sure it was good but we passed just out of principle. Other places in the neighborhood for breakfast. Convienent to the harbor (4-6 blocks) but an uphill walk back. Would definitely stay there again.

Dear JohntheLast,

Thank you for taking the time to give us this favourable and candid review. We appreciate your patronage and look forward to the opportunity to host you again someday.

I am sincerely sorry to read about the delivery of our breakfast charge notification. Your response as this being a “drawback” is completely understandable and very gentle given the circumstance. We have followed-up on this comment internally and improved upon our communication training to ensure this does not happen again.

We stayed at Abigails after departing our cruise ship. We arrived very late, after an evening tour to the gardens, and we were tired and hungry. The young lady who greeted us was so very helpful..she even heated up leftover Tomato Basil soup from dinner (delish!) for us.
Breakfast is a culinary treat, with the chef right there chatting with guests as he cooks. The rooms are charming and extremely comfortable. The entire staff is eager to please and always informative about places to go...things to see. Loved it!!!

Wonderful old-fashioned inn with elegant rooms and library. Room a bit on the small side but to be expected in this kind of inn, and this didn't affect the overall experience. Extremely courteous and helpful staff. The breakfast was graciously served and delicious.

We stayed at Abigails for 4 nights in a CoachHouse room and strongly recommend this bed and breakfast hotel. Breakfasts were superb, the room very comfortable, the bathroom spacious but above all, the service excellent. The staff seem very attuned to welcoming their visitors in this well run establishment. Unfortunately I was ill with food poisoning or an allergic reaction to a shellfish meal at a local restaurant one night during our stay and in considerable discomfort. Nick, the owner/ manager kindly arranged for me to see a doctor and drove me to the clinic-what other hotel would do that. Well done Abigail's. I do not often give an excellent rating

Victoria was absolutely amazing! The perfect place for a honeymoon or vacation, especially at Abigail's. We stayed there for the first 5 nights of our honeymoon, and while it is expensive, it's completely worth it. The hotel itself is beautiful and cozy, it truly felt like a home away from home. We stayed in the Foxglove Room, which was just beautiful. The Sherlock Holme's loveseat was a beautiful touch and surprisingly comfortable. The bathroom was massive and the bed was one of the most comfortable we've ever slept in (and I have serious trouble with beds due to an injury). Every morning we went down to the breakfast room or patio where we were pleasantly greeted and given menus: fresh baked goods daily (scones, croissants, muffins), a fruit cup (watermelon, kiwi, strawberries, blueberries, pineapple) and three different entree selections (light, sweet & savoury). The back of the menu also had the day's weather forecast! Each meal was phenomenal! We had chai infused french toast, crepes with blueberries and chocolate whipped cream, eggs florentine, omelettes with brie and asparagus. All of the portions were just right with the option for more, including meat sides (chicken & apple sausage, ham or back bacon) and starch sides. The chefs were SO friendly, asking how our meal was and even helping us carry our bags to the car when we left. Which brings me to the best thing about Abigail's: the staff. The staff, specifically Colleen, Laura, Larissa and Kelly were just outstanding! We never had to call a cab, book a dinner or excursion reservation. They remembered our names and even the kind of beer we like to drink! They truly made our stay so very special, we didn't want to leave! No other accommodation that we've had even remotely compares.

Room Tip: Contact the hotel directly and speak to them about the rooms.
