We booked passage and lodging through the website and everything worked out great. Tickets and hotel voucher were waiting for us without any hitches (got a very good price on the Hotel Grand Pacific as well!)

The trip takes about 90 minutes (from Port Angeles) and there seems to be plenty of seating.

Definitely recommend it and would travel with them again.

Thank langrj

The ferry goes to port angelos which is in the U.S. So do not forget your passport or other documents you might need. The ferry takes you directly Into the inner harbour of Victoria. The ferry has multiple sailings and does take reservations as well. It has the usual ferry stuff on board . Nice 90 minute ride very scenic. Staff are professional and friendly.

We travelled to the port across from Victoria and return when travelling to Seattle. After the ferry ride, it is a beautiful 1.5 hour drive to Seattle and lots to see or stop and shop. Took advantage of the Ferry, Park and Fly deals.....cheaper to fly from the USA than from Canada and we took many trips using such deals. Ferry is clean, staff are friendly, there is a café and a little shop but mostly we watched a movie on our portable tech stuff until we arrived.

If you go to Victoria (unless you opt to fly), you will take a boat. The BC ferry from Vancouver, the WA state ferry from Anacortes, The Victoria Clipper from Seattle or the Black Ball from Port Angeles. I have taken all of these in my various trips to Victoria. The Black Ball has several advantages - takes you straight to the inner harbor (unlike BC or WA ferries), and multiple daily sailings (unlike the Clipper).

The crossing is relatively quick (about 90 minutes) and a great ride. During one trip we saw porpoises, grey whales and orcas! Reasonable cafe, power outlets at the tables, small but attractive gift shop. You can also buy tickets to several Victoria attractions on board the Coho (the Black Ball ferry). You can make reservations for the ferry, though they do save some room for walk-ons (or roll-ups) on each sailing.

The drive to Port Angeles is about 2-1/2 hours from Seattle - slightly shorter than the drive to Anacortes or Tsawassen (Vancouver), but very scenic. Would be easy to add a night in PA to enjoy more of the area.

Great option if your coming back to the mainland and want to drive through Seattle. nice sceinic drive on the coast mountains. the sailing is comfortable, everyone must be on deck on this older ferry. the border scan is fairly efficient and does not take too long on either side. the only real hastle is the traffic you may hit getting into Tacoma. there is an optional ferry to go into seattle but did not want to risk a longer wait. food on the ferry is limited to the traditional fare, Hot Dogs, pre made sandwiches, chicken strips and fries. lots of snack type food for the younger crowds.
