Like to previous reviewer, I too have struggled to find a quality sushi place in Victoria. I will agree that this venue being out of downtown is a perk (less traffic, free parking, etc). Sadly, that can't make up for the shortfalls.
While the food itself is much better than Shima Sushi, it still doesn't compare to some of the places I've tried in southern Alberta. The sushi rolls that we ordered were, for the most part, quite tasty! One comment (not a complaint) is that the pieces in each roll were not cut evenly.
I must say that the service was lackluster. Granted, it may just have been "one of those days", but our server was emotionless, lethargic and continually dragged her feet, while slowly ambling to and from our table.
