I had the pleasure of staying at the Dashwood Manor Bed & Breakfast for a couple of nights after hiking the West Coast Trail. This B&B offered exactly what I needed after experiencing such an extreme adventure.

The Dashwood is situated at the corner of Cook and Dallas; where the Dallas Waterfront Trail and Beacon Hill Park meet. I stayed in the Chelsea, the original master bedroom. The views from my room were spectacular including an unobstructed view of the Juan de Fuca Strait and the park.

The hosts were warm, friendly, and very helpful as I explored this city for the first time. In advance, Dave forwarded a document filled with dining and sightseeing recommendations that greatly helped as I planned my days. Everything that I wanted to visit was within walking distance or only a short cab ride away.

The breakfasts were delicious and plentiful. The hosts take great care in addressing food allergies and preferences. The best part about staying at the Dashwood was the peace and quiet, the fantastic soaker tub, and breathing in the fresh sea air!

I’ll be back. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Every room that I had the opportunity to see was beautifully appointed.

The Dashwood was recommended to us by a friend and we're ever so grateful she told us about it! I think we would have been hard pressed to have found a better location, a comfier bed, more scrumptious breakfasts or a more knowledgeable host!

All we had to do was cross Dallas Road and we were on a fabulous path overlooking the ocean, with many points of easy access down to the water. Directly across Cook Street is the amazing Beacon Hill Park and, just a short and lovely walk down Cook Street, there are several places to eat, our favorite of which was definitely the Pizzeria Prima Strada!

While the corner of Cook & Dallas is a fairly active one during the day, things quiet down at night and we slept like babies in the Park Lane's king sized bed.

Waking up for a 9am breakfast was just right (unless you want to drive to Tofino and back in one day!). It was so nice enjoying leisurely and amazing breakfasts while taking in the dining room's beautiful view of the ocean, mountains and walking path (so fun watching all the dogs - I don't think I've ever seen so many dogs!). The views and the delicious food were complimented by the relaxing music and great sightseeing tips from our host, Dave.

Loved every minute of this getaway and already know which room I want to stay in next time!

This was an incredibly convenient and beautiful location from which to enjoy Victoria and its environs. The room and bed were comfortable and lovely, the views from both our room and the dining room were spectacular, and breakfast was really really yummy. As first-time visitors to the island, we appreciated all the excellent food and sight-seeing recommendations from our hosts, and the opportunity to enjoy the water just outside the front door. Several delicious restaurants within walking distance came recommended (from our host and from other friends who knew the area) and did not disappoint, and the short drive to the downtown area made this an easy base from which to explore while preserving the calm, quiet retreat atmosphere we were looking for on our weekend getaway. Highly recommended.

We LOVED our time that we spent at the Dashwood Manor Bed and Breakfast. We came to Victoria to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and staying at this B and B made it all the more memorable. We really benefited from the prime location, being so close to the shore, the view from our room and the breakfast dining room were beautiful. Across the street was Beacon Park, which we enjoyed strolls in, taking in the beautiful landscaping. Dave and Sharon's front yard was in full bloom as well, a reminder of the Butchard Gardens that we had visited during our stay. The breakfasts were very good, just right in quantity and served with the utmost hospitality.
Dave's recommendations for local eateries were very much appreciated and enjoyed. Our only "complaint" was that we had to leave too soon, next time we will stay longer! Highly recommend the Dashwood Manor for your next stay in Victoria,so close to everything and excellent hospitality.

Dashwood was top notch! The bed was very comfortable. The food was very plentiful, interesting, tasty and served promptly. The ocen view was spectacular, and it was fun to watch all the dogs out in the off leash area.
While we did not require assistance, I noted that the proprieter was very good at helping out patrons who needed guidance on activities or planning.

We enjoyed our time in Vicoria and our stay so much we extended it an extra night. Dave & Sharon were incredibly welcoming and Sharon's breakfasts were divine! Dave's suggestions for various places to eat were absolutely spot-on. Every place we dined was on his recommendation and every place was fantastic (good thing we walked so much while there). The location is perfect. A quick walk to Cook Street Village, and a short drive to the inner harbour made getting around easy and quick. The view, particularly in the dining room, was spectacular. We have already highly recommended Dashwood Manor to our friends and family.

We went to Victoria to celebrate my mother's 70th birthday, and we couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. The home was beautiful, the hosts' were great, breakfast was delicious, and we had a central place from which to explore. The location was perfect - it was fun watching the dogs and dogwalkers! I would highly recommend anyone traveling to Victoria to stay at the Dashwood Manor. We're planning to return!

Room Tip: If you like to see the ocean and the dog park, the second floor southeast room is the best!
