I had very little information about hotels overall in Victoria, B.C. Fortunately through a hotel site the reviews were good and the location perfect for my needs. Upon arrival the staff greeted me nicely, and they upgraded me to a nice large room facing inside courtyard because I requested a quiet room.

A rating of 4 is very high for me.

PROS:
- Welcoming staff
- Renovated boutique hotel
- Nice large and quiet corner room
- Large bathroom with heated floor tiles (very nice in winter)
- Included a small refrigerator, microwave oven, and a coffee maker
- Good size closet and dresser for clothes
- In-room robes, and umbrella available for use
- Offer discount if you waive maid service (for two night stay minimum)
- Veneto, is a very good restaurant and bar attached to hotel
- Complementary cup of coffee and one pastry in the morning, in their cafe
- Central location for old town, tourist areas, and doing business (this is a very small town)

CONS
- No view
- No food room service (you have to bring your own, or use their restaurant)
- The refrigerator in the room was a little noisy (although nothing to keep me awake)

Room Tip: Room # 302 is a large and quiet inside-facing corner room There is no view from this inside room.

This is a wonderful, boutique hotel in the heart of Victoria. A completely renovated building with a great staff, good food and easy walking distance of the inner harbor, lots of restaurants, the Parliament buildings, BC museum and great shopping in the area.

The staff here are great - professional, enthusiastic and knowledgeable, nothing is a problem and they go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. The location is ideal. While it's not on the waterfront, it's near enough to walk everywhere and there's a bus stop right out front, including the #75 to Butchart Gardens. Staff even know the timetables. One day we walked several blocks to Craigdarroch Castle and stumbled across Market on Yates supermarket which had ample fresh offerings which we took back to our room. We were impressed with the complementary cheese platter, hot beverage and pastries and enjoyed a drink in the wine bar. Our room was tastefully decorated and exceptionally clean, all new carpets, bedding etc. We had a double/double, while big enough for us, next time we would probably opt for a larger room with a kitchenette as we like to eat fresh and cook our own food when travelling. The only thing I would suggest is adding a couple of plates, bowls, spoons etc for the smaller rooms or a 'crockery / cutlery supplied on request', although I'm sure they would have been happily supplied if we'd asked. Thanks.

We had a lovely stay at the Rialto, the hotel was great, clean, tidy, great rooms, good location and good value for money. We enjoyed walking into town and down to the waterfront. The staff were also excellent from ensuring we had our room on arrival (with our toddler) to extra requests, they couldn't do enough. We would definitely stay again.

I travel frequently, and I can honestly say that the customer service at this hotel is some of the best I've ever seen. From the moment you walk in the door, you feel special and well taken care of. The room was small and cozy, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom floor was heated and it was quiet (except for the ice machine dumping ice in the middle of the night, so ask for a room away from that). The wi-fi is free and fast with a strong signal. They give you a coupon for a welcome cheese plate in the restaurant, as well as breakfast coupons for every day you are there for a free beverage and a baked good or $3 off your breakfast as well as a free beverage. The food is very reasonably priced to begin with. On top of that, if you don't get your room serviced, they will apply a credit to your account to use in the restaurant (I believe it was $10/day). The location is very convenient and walking distance to a lot of great restaurants as well as the harbor and great shopping all around. I will definitely stay here when I come to Victoria from now on.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the ice machine

We recently stayed at Hotel Rialto in victoria, BC. From booking the room to our last day we had nothing but positive experiences. The entire staff are very personable and professional. The front desk staff are very friendly and make great recommendations about what to do in victoria. Cafe veneto is a great place to begin your day, wether you get coffee and a danish or visit for breakfast, you won't be disappointed. The hotel is kept up and very clean due to an excellent housekeeping staff. The restaurant, Veneto, is managed by and staffed with a team oriented environment that is very noticeable from the drinks that are awesome to food that is prepared to perfection. There is a liquor store attached for convenience. We highly recommend this hotel and the location could not be better situated.

Room Tip: request back of building for quiet.

Stayed for 2 nights with my son during a getaway to Victoria. Excellent value for the money. Hotel is centrally located downtown and easy walking distance to the major attractions/sights. Hotel has been wonderfully restored, and has vintage feel, with modern amenities (like heated bathroom floors; yay!). Room was a good size, very clean, quiet, with Very comfortable beds.

The service from the staff was fantastic. For example, our TV wasn't working initially, but staff arrived right away to troubleshoot the problem and fix things. Every staff we interacted with was similarly attentive, helpful, and polite. The hotel offered complimentary coffee/pastry for breakfast, and evening cheese platter.

Would definitely stay here again, and have no hesitation recommending it to others!
