We went to Beacon Hill to see the official marker for the start of the Trans Canada Highway. We have driven this highway from Nova Scotia to Alberta, but wanted to see where it officially started/ended. Just a few feet from the highway marker was a statue of Terry Fox in honour of his courage and strength. It was a simple tribute but very touching. We walked through the park and saw many older trees and lots of open green spaces. We also enjoyed the entrance flower garden as it included an old sailing boat anchor (which was so much larger than expected), and crumpled metal the likes of what would happen if a boat’s keel ran into a reef.
