The hosts are super friendly and make you feel right at home from the start. The house is a heritage house that is beautifully decorated throughout. We stayed in the Iris room, which is perfect for intimate couples with the cutest open bathtub and comfiest bed. The breakfast here is so fresh and delicious, that I think it's even better than going out to eat. Make sure you dine on the patio during the gorgeous summer days to experience the peaceful scenery and outdoor air. Would definitely come back to stay here anytime I'm in Victoria!

Room Tip: Iris Room for intimate couples comfortable with sharing private spaces. Also need to climb into a st...

A group of us stayed at the Abbeymoore recently during a visit to Victoria. It's located close to the downtown, about a 7 minute drive and is in a lovely neighbourhood. We saw a few deer roaming the streets one morning on our way into town.
The house is large with several suites spread out over several floors, there's a large sitting room on the middle level where guests can read newspapers, enjoy some complimentary chocolate or port.
Water, soft drinks, juice, chips, other snacks and cookies are also provided complimentary to guests.
The dining area for breakfast is also on the middle level.
Check in was easy and we were led to our suite which was at ground level and a good size with a combined living room/kitchen, separate bathroom and separate bedroom.
We spread ourselves out, unpacked and relaxed a bit before deciding on dinner plans.
The bathroom is large with a tub shower, a good sized sink and some cupboards for storing personal items, etc. We noticed that the toilet seat didn't align quite right on the toilet but there was no problem with the toilet.
The kitchen area is a good size with a stove, sink, full sized fridge and cupboards stocked with plates, glasses, cutlery, etc.
The living room had a good sized flat screen tv, and there were some magazines in one of the side tables for review and reading.
Overall we liked the size of our suite. As I was lying down on the couch I noticed that one of the beams on the ceiling either had a large stain or brown patch on it - not sure if there had been some touch up or a repair but the rest of the beam was white so it was noticeable.
After we returned from dinner, my girlfriend and I went to bed early as we'd had a long and full day. Sometime in the night the sprinklers outside our bedroom window switched on and we were both awaken by the sound of the sprinkler system in operation. It wasn't loud but it was noticeable - maybe because it was so quiet otherwise.
Breakfasts are provided and the staff are courteous and friendly. The portions are ample and there is more than enough to get you off to a good start for the day. Juice is provided and you help yourself to coffee from an urn in the dining area. One morning the breakfast offered didn't really appeal to our group and Jeff, the host was very accommodating in terms of providing scrambled eggs and toast as a substitute.
Jeff is very keen to assist the guests and make your stay enjoyable. Our group of six was sitting out on the porch late afternoon mixing up some alcoholic beverages and Jeff came out with a complimentary lovely plate of olives, cheese, crackers and salami - amazing service!
There is a set of menus in the hallway of the middle floor you can peruse to choose a location for dinner. We found this helpful although most places we called were busy for the night so we recommend you plan ahead. The chair seated next to the menus was an older style but a funny ridge/bump in the cushion when you sat on it- maybe an errant spring?
There is complimentary wifi and it worked fine throughout our stay.
Overall our group enjoyed our stay and the hospitality and would consider staying there again when visiting Victoria.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2-night stay at Abbeymoore Manor. After a stroll in the VERY busy downtown area and the Gardens, it was wonderful to stay away of the touristy areas. We were able to easily walk to Craigdarroch Castle and the Government House (lovely gardens), and we used public transit for downtown, without any problem. Our room was beautifully decorated and super comfortable. We enjoyed breakfast and conversation with other guests and our host, who had great recommendations for places to visit. The food was delicious--plus tea, coffee, and snacks available all day. We hope to come back!

My husband and I stayed here for a night for our Honeymoon in June. The property is beautiful and so well taken care of. We stayed in the Rose room. Everyone that worked there was so friendly and kind. The breakfast was AMAZING! I really wish we could have stayed here longer.

We spent three nights in Abbeymoore's Rose Room, and our stay was wonderful! From the time that I booked the reservation, until we departed, the staff went out of their way to be accommodating. Our room was large, beautifully furnished, the bed was very comfortable and everything was immaculate. We loved our room, but be aware that the sink and vanity is in the bedroom and not the bath. This is not the case in all of the rooms, so if you prefer to have them separated, then I would suggest choosing another room at Abbeymoore. Bedrooms are not air-conditioned, but a tower fan was provided and it was more than efficient at cooling the room. Fresh flowers and chocolates had been placed in our room in recognition of the special occasion that we were celebrating. Such a nice touch, and definitely appreciated! We had absolutely no problems with the wi-fi during our stay. A delicious multi-course gourmet breakfast was provided each day. Chef Henry and his staff do an amazing job of providing guests with a memorable meal. Common areas at Abbeymoore are comfortable, guests are provided with complimentary snacks and drinks during their stay. Many thanks to Jeff and his staff for a wonderful holiday in Victoria!

Room Tip: Rose room is large with a seating area; sink and vanity are in room rather than the bath; back of th...
