We came here last April and fell in love with Victoria and the inner harbour. Coming from the Maritimes it was hard to impress us but Victoria did it. We moved here this past September.
There is always activity and it is well kept. You can sit and watch for hours. Reminds me so much of Halifax Harbour.
A quaint, lovely, and blooming harbor. Enjoyed the lovely walk and see breeze. Parliament building is colossal. People are friendly. A short 1.5 hrs ferry ride from Port Angeles Washington.
Lot's of interesting things to do in the downtown area, just check the weekly schedule on the tourist sites! You can see the dragon boat races / deuce car show / or watch the harbour planes land in the Inner Harbour.
You will find yourself here if you venture down to the Harbour. It is an interesting place with plenty happening during the day. Boats, buskers and other happenings make this an interesting place to spend time while in Victoria. We were through here several times over the two days we were in Victoria and loved the atmosphere (helped no doubt by the warm sunny weather)
Truth be told I did not find any real must sees in Victoria. Unfortunately as with other cruise stops it has developed and morphed into another area to buy souvenirs and clutter. Due to the climate your strolls, trolley, cab, bike, etc tours will be filled with views of greenery and flowers which is the best part of the area. If you have never walked a water front, then you will enjoy Victoria Pier otherwise you are not likely to be impressed.
