The room was really nice and clean. We had a full kitchen which worked out since we were bringing food for our camping trip, so we were able to use the freezer and fridge to keep our food good. The washroom was clean. Internet access in the room. It appears each room has there own internet box. No issues with it. Parking is across the street in a lot. We got a 10% off discount at the restaurant in the hotel, which we used for breakfast. Location is OK, about 30min walk down to the Empress Hotel, which was good for use since we had been driving a lot. The hotel has a pool which was busy and had a bar as well. Very nice.

The hotel is reasonably well located and has ample parking. The rooms are clean and reasonably well equipped but the real let down is the supposed fast free WiFi! In the rooms it was unusable, very unstable connection and speeds generally low particularly the upload speed. In the hotel lobby it was better

We had a very nice 3 day stay at the hotel The room was clean, spacious, and relatively quiet. Beds were big and very comfortable. A/C was nice to have in the rooms too. Our kitchenette unit was fully stocked if needed. Good location. Hotel was within walking distance from Chinatown, inner harbor and lots of places to choose from to eat. Staff were prompt and helpful. Staff fixed phone right away. The only thing was the internet connection was unstable some days in our room. Would definitely stay at this hotel again!

Room Tip: Our request for a quiet room in the upper floors was met.

Some of the reviews that I read were not very complimentary so I was a little hesitant to book it. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The room that I got was large, with a separate sitting area and a full kitchen. It appeared that it may have very recently been renovated. It's not close to what I would call downtown but the walk is pleasant. There is a restaurant and a bar in the hotel but there is also a " White Spot" next door and a restaurant across the street at Paul's motel. There is also a pool with a bar.
The staff were very helpful and pleasant. I would certainly stay there again.

Yes, the rooms are nicely renovated, but you can't renovate the seedy neighbourhood, the noise from both traffic and neighbours, or an eye for detail.

As a resident of Victoria who needed to stay in a hotel as my apartment was undergoing renovation, I called to make a reservation. The gentleman making the reservation was rather gruff. When I gave him my Victoria address, his response was "if you live here, why are you renting a room?" For one thing, none of his business, but secondly, better ways he could have asked than that.

I stayed at the hotel prior to renovations, and the rooms are much nicer. Sadly, not much else has changed. The entryway to the hotel is disgusting. There is lumber, old chairs, filing cabinets, tools and equipment, and just random junk laying in plain sight. When a hotel does not even attempt to hide these sights from guests, it makes you wonder what else is going on that you can't see. Cleaning this up would be a simple fix.

Wifi was painfully slow and frequently kicked us off. The shower curtain rod was installed in such a way that the curtain slid toward the middle of the rod. A simple fix, that hasn't been done. The fake plants in the hallways were peeling and dirty - another simple fix.

Overall, while renovated, you got the impression that they just did not care. I too did not care for the place, and did not care to fork out $200 for one night here.

Lots of more affordable options in the James Bay/Inner Harbour districts.

We picked this motel because we wanted something affordable, but also close to the inner harbor. We parked our car in the free parking lot and walked every day, leaving in the morning and not usually returning until night. We enjoyed our room and the staff helped with whatever we needed. It was clean, updated, had good climate control in the room (a must for Victoria in July!), and overall a great experience. We would stay here again.

Front desk so helpful for gave us room on first floor and had 2 separate bookings and was able to give us same room all 4 nights. Wonderful breakfast at restaurant inside hotel at great price. Very quiet location. Bus stop right by hotel. Room very updated - cool bathroom sink. Great price for quality room. Didn't need but had microwave and refrigerator. Near Chinatown.

Room Tip: bottom floor very quiet
