This little garden, tucked away in Fairfield, is worth going out of your way to spend an afternoon enjoying tea and flowers. They serve local Silk Road Teas, and prepare a delicious full English Tea service. The garden is well maintained and open year round. Not expensive to visit like Butchart, but worth making a donation since it is cared for by the Land Conservancy!

Drove by the entrance twice before figuring out where on Fairfield street this really was. Worth the stop , interesting story of how this came about; built on a large rocky slope in residental eastern Victoria-

I have been to Victoria several times, but had not heard of these gardens. We spent a delightful afternoon here. First we had a wonderful tea in the tearoom, located in the house the Abkhazis had built. Then we wandered through the charming garden. We really enjoyed the three turtles sunning themselves in the natural pond and the cat, also soaking up the rays. The garden is beautiful, but not overwhelming. One feels as if you might find the owners still in residence. Their history is romantic to say the least - meeting in Paris in the 20's, spending the war years apart, each in internment/POW camps, finally reuniting, marrying and immigrating to Victoria after the war.

A lovely garden right in the city. It's so very peaceful and well taken care of. The history of the owners is quite special and the garden is a true treasure to the city of Victoria. I must admit I am a photography buff and a biologist...so I loved the diversity of the amazing plants from bonzai evergreens to huge rhododendrons. All was amazing. I also attended tea with delicious scones.
