First off the captain is very good at his job, the tour says approx 3 hrs, ours was 4 hrs, the team on board was very knowledgeable and always pointed out sights to see, the tour included a quick trip to the seals ecological habitat, our boat went over to the San Juan islands, we saw lots of whales. Highly recommended

Dear LadyCavalier,
Thank you for your kind words about our captain and crew! It sounds like you had a great trip. Our tours often run on the longer side so we always recommend making reservations when there are no pressing appointments to return to - give yourself a couple of extra hours just in case the trip is extended! We will always go above and beyond to get to the whales (even if they are a bit further out of range than usual), and we make sure you have plenty of time with the wildlife, from the whales to the seals, sea birds, porpoises, and anything else we can find out there!
We appreciate your feedback, and we look forward to seeing you again the next time you are in Victoria.
All the best,
Mika

Dear Lawrence B,
Thank you for your kind words about Dale! This world traveler always has interesting facts to share and great stories to tell. He and the rest of the team certainly enjoy their jobs, and it shows! I'm glad to hear you had such a fantastic experience on your trip. We love taking local Victoria residents out to see the abundant wildlife that we are so lucky to have in our very own backyard.
We appreciate hearing the feedback , and we look forward to seeing you again soon!
All the best,

This was a great tour with very friendly staff/guides! The guides were very friendly and informative. They helped us spot whales, told us what to expect, shared stories. They were great.

We saw LOTS of humpback whales, seals, sea lions and birds – even a bald eagle. No orcas, as it was kind of late in the season to spot them.

The tour itself was late October, on one of Eagle Wing's indoor/outdoor boats. The boats hold 50 (they told us), but we only had 20 or so on with us. That size was actually really nice because you could move around easily. I'd wonder how crowded it gets on deck with more people. The deck on the boat was one that you walked on, not one with the rows of seats.

The boat was large enough that I don't think the rocking was too bad. No one got sea sick. And we had all ages on board with us – young and old.

The boats launch from Fisherman's Wharf in Victoria, not too far from downtown. (We did walk, but may be a hike for some people.) Plan to spend some time walking around the docks – lots of pretty boats, cute floating houses, and a few restaurants. There are also some friendly seals that hang out by the docks and you can by fish to throw out to them.

In planning my trip, the Eagle Wing staff was very helpful giving me advice on how to get from Vancouver to Victoria, which ferry to take and what time to leave. They had to change the time of our tour due to weather, and they called me to see if that was okay and make sure I could still get there on time.

Would definitely recommend this tour, and hope to be back myself one day!

Good afternoon Danielle L,
Many thanks for taking the time to share your experience with us! Your crew will be pleased to know that you had such a great trip. Even though we may not be in peak season, there is still so much to see out there. It has been an amazing year for humpback whales, both in terms of numbers and location. They have made a remarkable comeback, and we always feel very lucky to see so many of them return with their calves year after year.
Great idea to give yourself extra time at Fisherman's Wharf - it is a unique little community and a great place to hang out and have lunch, and don't forget an ice cream for dessert!
We look forward to seeing you the next time you visit Victoria.
All the best,
Mika

This is just a lovely company. ALL of their staff is great: Enthusiastic, knowledgeable and caring - both us and for the animals. For me, that was an essential factor when choosing a whale watching company.
We had a lovely afternoon at sea, we saw many whales, the seals and sea lions were really cool (and I won't forget their scent anytime soon), we were brought to a spot with bald eagles - the staff really knows the sea very well. Unfortunately for us there were no killer whales, but we really noticed that the staff kept hoping that they'd pop up.
Lovely experience, wouldn't want to have missed it for the world :)

Dear AnoukAmsterdam,
Thank you for the delightful review! I'm glad you chose a whale-watching company that was in line with your ethics and values - that is so important. Our staff and crew certainly have an abundance of love and respect for the animals they encounter every day. It sounds like you had some great wildlife encounters. It's regrettable that there were no killer whales that day but we hope to find you some the next time you visit and join us for a tour!
All the best,
Mika
