2nd visit in 6 months. We loved it 1st time at dinner time, same today for lunch time. Small venue, but excellent food, best things come in small packages! The Line & Sinker (Asian inspired fish soup) had a broth full in delicate flavours, packed generously with fish morcels.... a really nice lunch meal with toasted bread. We added a glass of Sauvignon blanc for rounded effect! After such a lovely meal the walk to Craigdarroch Castle was a must. We will return for the Tartines next time

We were looking for a good local seafood restaurant, and were recommended the Fishhook. Initial impression was if a small ok-ish looking restaurant with not a lot of seating. Once we walked through the door we had a great welcome and were advised we'd have 10-15mins to wait for a table. We chose a local brewed ale, delicious, and were seated in approx 10mins. We shared a seafood chowder, delicious and fish dishes cooked to order.
The place was informal, shared tables, friendly with great food (and beer).
Service was excellent,a s were the prices. Met some great people, ate well and had a splendid eve.

Read about this through trip adviser and it sounded just what we wanted on arrival in Victoria. It certainly delivered. Food was fresh and tasty.

Self described as "Pescatarian Into-French," this small, dark, almost invisible restaurant in downtown Victoria is packed with brilliant flavours. I had the Pondicherry, which is two koftas (hand formed meatballs of mixed wild fish) on golden basmati rice with chana masala (curried spice sauce with chickpeas) and a tamarind coconut paste. The koftas and chana masala had a good spiciness to them, which was tempered by the sweetness of the tamarind coconut paste. The combination of sweet and spicy plays magic on the old taste buds, refreshing and enlivening them. Fishhook is licensed to serve beer and wine, and they have a good selection of local craft beers by Hoyne, Driftwood and Phillips. I recommend darker beers to complement the bright flavours of the food.

Fantastic service and mussels. We had been in search of great mussels and we found them here. Our waitress was excellent.
