This is a downtown restaurant with a beautiful walk along the water. The atmosphere inside is hip with a few booths and open tables. There are two parts to this restaurant, the fancy and "upscale" or the hip and quite loud regular part. This review is for the regular part. Because of the loud music, it isn't the best place for conversation. The items on the menu were overpriced and mediocre (with the exception of the oysters). There are a plethora of waitresses, however, trying to actually get service, nonetheless good service, is a problem for Pescatores. The waitress never came to ask how the food was and since the food was undercooked, I had to ask someone else for help. All of this was resolved with a new overcooked piece of halibut and a discount. The water glasses were only filled after asking the bus guy. The beer selection is fantastic, serving local beers.
The restaurant has great intentions and sources local products from local farmers and fishermen. None of this matters however, if at the final point of serving, the food is not properly done and the servers do not know how to practice excellent customer service.
This restaurant is good for the person who simply wants a dozen fresh oysters and a delicious local beer, sitting at the bar. However, if you are interested in conversation, service and other types of food, I recommend another restaurant.
