This Tea room, located in the The trendy Oak Bay neighborhood is a must for those wishing to sample an authentic High Tea, complete with scones, tea sandwiches, cakes,
cookies & biscuits with clotted cream, lemon curd & raspberry jam. Everything was first rate - the sandwiches were awesome. My 80-something mother & I shared the medium size Tea Offering as well as a soup & sandwich plate. It was plenty with enough to take home to enjoy later. Bargain compared to the EMPRESS HOTEL, which is more than double the price. Would go again. Highly recommend. Lovely ambience & delicious tea.

This was our first stop after the flight from Australia, our hotel phoned for a booking for us, told us this was a treasure, wonderful choice and we were lucky to get a table, was a very busy place, just a short taxi ride from Downtown. The meal was very good and service excellent. The Summer Soup was a treat to try, melt in the mouth Quiche, Salmon etc.
The waitress took photos for us, told us about the quaint little village nearby Oak Bay and the local bus number to Craigdarroch Castle.
So pleased we were able to visit being on a tight schedule.

Four American girlfriends visited for 'The Big Muckle' high tea platter. We had so much fun just experiencing a 'high tea' with all the lovely choices. We could not even eat all of the food. We liked that the waitress brought tea samples over for us to smell and was very knowledgable and helpful in choosing a tea for each of us. A lovely 'girls day out'!

This Oak Bay neighborhood is only a taxi ride away from downtown Victoria but has different, easy going vibe. It is part of stripmall complex but tourists who did their homework and locals know this place. Since there are limited tables, reservation highly recommended.

Displays very British with one of a kind tea cups, waitress very competent, caring and feel free to ask any question if you are not familiar with high tea tradition. Yes, it is not as elegant as let's say Empress tea room of downtown and other overpriced places you typically see in popular tourist places around the world. But they do charge 2-3 times more and some doesn't even at par in terms of taste and service.

If you have big appetite, go for "Big Muckle Giant Tea" for 34 CAD each. That is the best value. Scone is freshly baked (as all others on 3 tier trays are) and much better than the one I tasted at a modest café of National Trust in the UK. This one is much richer and yummy. Rest of the bottom tier are warm finger food and all good.
Tea sandwiches on 2nd tier are also equally good and many on my table can barely progress to the dessert tier on the top. Our lovely server packed all for us and that made a good picnic lunch next day - yes, still quite good next day. If you try to save a few dollars, many goodies on those plates will be missing.

Tea choices - one of most diverse I've ever seen. Feel free to choose traditional Earl Grey, popular "Mad Hatter", funky whole fruit "west coast", or even something oriental like Oolong or Jasmine among others. Just keep it in your mind to choose something you can enjoy for the whole afternoon, not just a cup, my humble opinion.

Only negative might be that parking can be a bit challenging. Limited space at the back or try 2 hour free parking on Oak Bay Ave. Keep driving round and round till you find a spot on the OBA. Do not try the side streets - resident parking ONLY. That's why I said at the beginning: a taxi ride away.

This is a small and really popular restaurant located in Victoria, Oak Bay. This little place has it all - lovely lunches or beautiful English teas if that's your thing. The food is everything it should be. The decor is very english. There is a bit of parking in the back of the shop, but this is a bisy area so you may have to look further afield for parking.

Anna,
Thank you for your kind review as well as helpful tips for your customers. It is an excellent point you made about our limited parking in the back of our restaurant. We also want to let others know that there is free parking along Oak Bay Avenue. Street parking is usually good for 1-2 hours. Thank you again for your positive comment, and we look forward to your next visit.
