The famous 'Trojan horse' bridge is awesome - I love the design and look. I think it's definitely worth a quick stop to see before it's gone.

Thank Kimberly K

The famous blue bridge, now sadly rusting and stripped of its railway span. Always reminds me of the Leonard Cohen Song Famous Blue raincoat...same emotional response I suppose.

This bridge has been the "historic" structure located in the Inner Harbor of Victoria since it's opening on January 11, 1924. This bridge was designed by Strauss Bascule Co. Ltd. of Ontario, Canada which also designed the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. Upper superstructure was built in Ontario and lower portion completed by the city of Victoria at a cost $918,000 (CAN). The original vehicle deck was replaced in 1966 and the bridge was painted "BLUE" in 1979, now called the Blue Bridge! Victoria is now in the process of replacing this iconic structure with a new bridge and the end date for completion is still to be determined! I travel over this structure every day going back & forth to work. This is a bicycle / pedestrian friendly bridge, as they get first priority over motor vehicles. Local artists have been painting & photographing this structure for many years!
