We've eaten at Lotus Pond several times on visits to Victoria and will keep going back - especially for the lemon chicken! It is just incredible. Good sized menu with reasonable prices but not what I'd call high end food - more similar to Loving Hut. But the food is tasty sand the service is always excellent.

This is a quant little restaurant that could be easily missed... I've seen it before, but never walked in till a friend suggested we go. It is vegetarian and run by a family that really cares about the service and food. It is also very affordable esp. compared to other similar restaurants. I plan to go back.

We have been coming to Lotus Pond for a few years now. All veggie restaurant, quick service, very cost friendly and good food based on their Buddhist philosophy. No alcohol and the restaurant is plain but, oh so good.

Simply put, this is our favourite restaurant in Victoria, a less vegan-friendly city than you would be led to believe. One of us is vegan; the other is not. The portions are generous, the staff hard-working and lovely, and the prices very, very fair. The menu is huge! There is simply no match for this place on Vancouver Island. Please be sure to try the turnip cakes, which is like the best hash brown you will ever have, and that doesn't do it justice. Cold gluten and mock duck are superb. The Szechuan Ginger beef is to die for! We cannot say enough good things about this place. The only flaw is when parents with badly behaved children come and disrupt the other diners. Please order take-out or go to a buffet place elsewhere and leave the rest of us in peace. The space is too small and the tables too close for you and your precious children to treat it like a playground. If this didn't happen on more than a few occasions, we would not mention it, because this place is too good to say anything negative. Lotus Pond is a treasure.

The night was freezing cold so we were looking for hot soup before our nights entertainment. Since the Lotus Pond was right next to our venue we gave it a try although none of our party were vegans we had little experience in vegan foods. The menu posted showed lots of soup choices. We started with appetizers of Spring rolls, Crispy pancake's and Turnip cakes. All three arrived quickly, hot and delicious to be followed shortly by hot and sour soup which was judged excellent by our companions. We opted for the Won Ton Vegetable Noodle soup which came with four noodle options: Udon (our choice),Rice Board, Vermicelli and regular. Many items came gluten free to the delight of our gluten free companion. Servings were generous, flavorful and hot on arrival. So much so that while ordering we discussed the specially dish of Mock Lemon Chicken which several tables around us were being served but we were too full and that dish will have to wait for our next visit, which will be soon.
