“Great place for coffee and a sandwich on the Galloping Goose Trail”

There is a sign right on the trail directing you to The Nest Cafe, up a rise right at the side of the trail. We had been riding about an hour and a half on the Lochside and Galloping Goose Trails, starting at the ferry landing in Sidney, and were ready for a light lunch / sandwich stop. This was a welcome little cafe.

My friend and I walked from my house to The Nest in about 20 minutes with my dog to have coffee and a sweet treat. If you stay outside there is lots of places to leash your dog, The Nest even provides clips if your dog likes to wander or your dog just needs a little extra control. Coffee is good and the selection of treats include items that are gluten free for those that require it. They even supply free dog treats and water for dogs! I like what I had which was an apple cake, they did ask if I would like it warmed. I should have had it warmed it was just a little bit too cool from being in the display case. My friend agreed that she wished she had also taken her treat warmed up. Dog had no complaints. Lots of places for bikes too as this is along the Galloping Goose Trail and a repair station if required. Looks like they are in the process of building a deck over a bit of water, not sure?? Great place to stop along the Goose for everyone in the family. They do offer some lunch items. Price for the apple cake and coffee was just under $6.

Walked here a few times.. hidden from the trendy croud, you've got to commit a bit to get here on foot, or cheat and drive; great drinks and snacks and a beautiful patio with umbrellas!

Called in here after walking round Thetis Lakes. Great find right next to the Galloping Goose cycle path. Good coffee and great blueberry cake. Lovely deck area where we were able to soak up the first outing of Spring sunshine. Very reasonably priced.

Friendly staff, good coffee, fantastic deck! Love all the attention to detail in catering to cyclists and dog owners. Nice little touches everywhere you look. Soups and sandwiches are good, though would be so much better if soups were homemade. A little neighborhood place like this, with unique character, should make its own soup. Would love to see homemade muffins and granola, too.
Always a good vibe here.
