Quite area of town. Both indoor and outdoor seating. Carrot cake and coffee just over $5. Not air conditioned during hot days.

This charming cafe does everything right. The location (between km 9 and 10 on the Galloping Goose), the coffee, the food (including some vegan and gluten free), the service are all great. But in addition there's the lovely garden, the south facing, sunny deck, the fresh flowers and a painted stone with a thoughtful message on each table, the dog-friendly touches, the bike repair station and much more. It's lovely. And if you're in a car there's plenty of parking.

The cafe overlooks the trail and has bike parking right at the foot of the stairs leading up. The menu is quite varied and was quite tasty.
I tried the ma-cha lemonade and it is likely an acquired taste but found it very refreshing.
Definitely worth a stop for a break from the trail.

There is a sign right on the trail directing you to The Nest Cafe, up a rise right at the side of the trail. We had been riding about an hour and a half on the Lochside and Galloping Goose Trails, starting at the ferry landing in Sidney, and were ready for a light lunch / sandwich stop. This was a welcome little cafe.

My friend and I walked from my house to The Nest in about 20 minutes with my dog to have coffee and a sweet treat. If you stay outside there is lots of places to leash your dog, The Nest even provides clips if your dog likes to wander or your dog just needs a little extra control. Coffee is good and the selection of treats include items that are gluten free for those that require it. They even supply free dog treats and water for dogs! I like what I had which was an apple cake, they did ask if I would like it warmed. I should have had it warmed it was just a little bit too cool from being in the display case. My friend agreed that she wished she had also taken her treat warmed up. Dog had no complaints. Lots of places for bikes too as this is along the Galloping Goose Trail and a repair station if required. Looks like they are in the process of building a deck over a bit of water, not sure?? Great place to stop along the Goose for everyone in the family. They do offer some lunch items. Price for the apple cake and coffee was just under $6.
