This was our second time here for dinner and this time we opted for the tasting menu and wine pairings. It was a great decisions.

The Abbotsford rice (grown in BC and paired with sake made from the same rice) was a definite treat. And surprise. The duck breast was cooked to perfect - juicy and crunchy at the same time.

Even though the prices were highish, it was worth every penny.

If exploring local cuisine is one focus of your travels, do not leave Victoria without experiencing the tasting menu with wine pairings at Agrius!! (Excellent value for the wine pairings.) Our taste buds were truly excited from start to finish. Courses are beautifully presented and the wine pairing carefully described. Selections were for the most part were locally sourced. We were introduced to Bella,(Naramata bench, Okanagan) a sparkling Gamay Noir with hints of rhubarb and plum to accompany suculent Island oysters with dill mignonette, followed by house-made charcuterie. We especially like the curried salami. Next were steel head trout slices with pickled sea asparagus paired with a Chateau d'Aydie Pacherenc, a delightful wine from SW France with which we are very familiar. The following course was truly an inspiration: Canadian Junmai Nama Genshu sake paired with buttery rice with shitake mushrooms and crispy leeks. (We'll be hunting that one down!) And next, Orofino (from the Simalkeen) a Cab Franc 2016 paired with duck breast from the Fraser Valley with lightly sautéed radish including the greens...delicious. The final note was a yummy raspberry compote/chocolate pudding with mini profiteroles accompanied by Sage Hill 2016 ''Aft''. Espresso to round off the night. Service is excellent. We have to come back for more,

From the creative cocktail list, and the wonderful house-baked bread, to the creative one-of-a-kind dessert, this place exceeded our expectations at every course! We celebrated an anniversary dinner here -- the sparkling wine cocktails to the side-striped shrimp appie (absolutely divine flavours and textures) to the mains which included delicious halibut with collard greens and tender pierogies and delectable salmon with roasted eggplant -- every bite was delicious and the service was excellent! Dessert was squash ice cream with the BEST house-made marshmallow ever! Can't recommend this place highly enough -- we will definitely return.

We loved their bakery for breakfast (Fol Epi), so we went back for dinner to the Restaurant. It's a busy place, with a nice lively vibe. Service fast and very friendly. Inventive cocktail and the recommended Okanagan Valey vine arrive fast. Food is made of seasonal, local ingredients - uncomplicated and very good. Plenty of fish, seefood and vegetarian choices.
We were so happy at Agrius that we ended up buying a round of beer for the kitchen staff, they more than deserved it

Food is beautifully presented and described by your server. Servers give excellent suggestions.
Limited menu of local craft beer. This is a farm to table restaurant so that naturally makes it more expensive.
Be sure to reserve so that you won't be lined up.
