“Excellent Hotel in beautiful surroundings”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 September 2009

Having stayed here many times for varying lengths of time I have always had the same high standard of room cleanliness & staff helpfulness. There are some fantastic views to be had from the balconies.
The club house & cafe serves excellent meals. There are numerous golf course, trails & a well equipped fitness centre & outdoor pool.
As a well travelled person I actually find it difficult to make a bad comment about this hotel; the only things that some may find a negative are its remoteness & quietness. Note: Always shut your window at night in the summer if your room faces the golf course as they beginning mowing at dawn.

Travelled to the Okanagan for business and stayed at Predator instead of our usual downtown Vernon. Beautiful surroundings...great to wake up to. Tried the gym and the golf course and would highly recommend it.

We don't golf, but still had a good one-night getaway at Predator Ridge.

Our "bachelor" suite was on the ground floor and was quite nice, the grounds are quite impressive, and the staff were wonderful.

The resort is only 20 minutes away from Kalamalka Lake and a great beach for sunbathing and swimming off the peir. The pool at the resort is nice, but small.

We had brunch at the resort, and while pricey at $58 after tip for the two of us, it was really good and had both breakfast and lunch items.

The only negative that comes to mind is that the beds are queens rather than the kings I like to see in a hotel room.

Husband and I stayed for three nights mid-week in a lodge suite, the most economical accommodation. As the room rate goes up based on how full the resort is, it pays to book in advance. There are also small cottages available, which tended to be where families with children stayed, and the cottage area had quite an active atmosphere as a result. I therefore wouldn't recommend the cottages for couples looking for a quiet get-away.

However, our lodge room was exceptionally quiet. We were on the top (fourth) floor, and there are only 7 suites per floor; we didn't hear a sound from the other rooms our entire stay. The suite included a full kitchen, which is handy, but also takes up a lot of space, so it tends to feel quite cramped in the room. It's fine for a few days, but if we were staying longer we would book something larger. The bathroom is also quite small with little counter space, but again workable for a few days. Each room has a dvd player and large tv. We loved the deck and the table and chairs provided, and spent a lot of time sitting outside enjoying the view. The two negative aspects to the room were: 1) the bed is too soft for my taste, and 2) the blinds on the windows are not solid, so the room was flooded with light at 5 a.m.

The resort staff are young and casual, but wonderfully helpful. From the check-in, where we received all the information we needed about the resort, to the golf course staff, to the restaurant staff, everyone we encountered was friendly and went out of their way to be of service.

There is only one restaurant on site, apart from a small coffee shop, and the next closest restaurants are in Vernon, a 15 minute drive away, and Kelowna, a 40 minute drive away. We ate two meals in the resort restaurant, and both were good but not great.

The pool area was very small - just one small pool and some lounge chairs - and we didn't end up spending any time there.

The golf course is very highly rated by most golf publications, and with good reason. Very expensive to play, but the course is fantastic with all the high-end amenities you'd expect (GPS in the carts, clubs cleaned by staff after the round, carts stocked with ice water, etc.). My husband played a round there and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Overall, Predator Ridge offers great value for a newer resort in this area of the Interior, and we would stay here again for a few days getaway.

We stayed in the hotel at Predator Ridge last week for a little 3 day getaway with our kids... came to the Okanagan just for a getaway from Vancouver. Saw an ad with great pricing so figured may as well try it. What a fabulous place - I hadn't been before, but my husband had golfed here and I have to day that I wasn't too excited about going to a "golf course" for our holiday. It is soooo much more than that.

Our room was beautiful - 2 bedrooms with a giant bathroom & soaker tub. Our kids shared a bedroom with 2 twin beds, perfect for our family. We had a kitchen (that is quite possibly nicer than our one at home ;) so we could make some of our own meals. There was an outdoor swimming pool & hot tub - we could get drinks from teh golf course concession stand too! I went to the spa for a pedicure & facial - quite reasonably priced for a resort I have to say... all aveda stuff too.

The restaurant was great - loved the Scallops & Bacon appi... favorite dinner item was the Halibut. My husband loved their steaks - the side of risotto was so good. They had kids items too... our kids got a toy when we checked in which made their day and kept them busy while we unpacked.

They have a fitness centre with a pool that was unbelieveable... we had great workouts, took turns with our kids swimming while the other had a workout. Walked on the trails. They had live music on the patio of the little cafe / grocery store one evening which was fun to see... it was truly an amazing getaway and I can't wait to go back.

We stayed in a Lodge 1 Bdrm suite looking out at the driving range. The room was excellent and the view was excellent. My wife used the spa and had a great expeience there. I played the golf course twice and loved it. Lots of great hole and lots of great views.

We stayed here recently during the week. We don't even golf - just wanted to get away somewhere and hang out for a few days. What a great place to do it! We had a one bedroom suite on the top floor of one of the lodges - overlooking the putting green and driving range and to the hills beyond. It was so quiet and peaceful - nohing but the sound of frogs at night! The suite is spacious and new. The kitchen has everything you need if you want to do a bit of cooking. Our bathroom had a large jacuzzi tub and a large glass shower. If you don't want to cook, there is a coffee shop with lattes, breakfast and lunch stuff. The meals in the clubhouse are very good - some of the best food of our trip. We liked our room so much we ordered out from the club house to eat in our suite. When you do want to venture out of your suite, the fitness centre has a large pool and all the workout equipment you need. There are also great hiking trails around the property - and I do mean hiking, not just flat strolls around the greens. If you do want to go out and do stuff, Kelowna is less than a half hour away. There is free internet access on the first floor if you need to check your e-mail. The staff were friendly and helpful, though not always completely informed about the property. We had originally considered staying in Kelowna but found the prices very high for what you get. We were looking for something high end and you would pay at least double for the same quality of accommodation in Kelowna as at Predator Ridge. We loved staying here and really hated to leave for the rest of our holiday. Nothing compared to this property and will definitely go back. Our only complaint is that the beds were quite hard. Unfortunately this is a problem at many properties. Maybe they could put mattress pads on top of the mattresses or at least make them available...
