Overall the hotel was fine, the location is very handy to the ski lifts which is a bonus. The mandatory ski-valet is a bit excessive ($8 per day per set), considering that during our stay we noticed that a lot of people were still taking their gear to their rooms and that you have to take your poles etc with you anyway. The rooms were clean but dated bujt comfortable none the less. Staff were friendly and helpful. Overall enjoyed the stay, would consider staying there again of the price was right.

I've had many weekends in Whistler, and I usually stay at The Westin. There are many positives. The beds are very comfortable, you can almost throw a rock from your room to either mountain gondola, (I detest schlepping around in ski boots), staff tend to be young, attractive, and attentive, if you shop it right you can get reasonable rates here, the rooms are cozy and enjoyable, room service is timely and delicious, walking access to the village walk is convenient, most of the TVs work nicely in high def now, the onsite manager will actually accomodate requests, and the cleaning service is usually impeccable. It is very easy to have a very enjoyable stay here. The negatives are slight, the shower stalls in the bathrooms are laughably tiny, a small handful of staff are undertrained, the breakfast service remains substandard (year after year!) the car and ski valet and room service surcharges add up very fast. Overall though I can't find any other place I like more than the Westin in Whistler. Enjoy!

Room tip: The rooms facing the village have nice views, but absorb a lot of noise. The rooms on the very top floor can pick up very annoying clicking thumping noises from heating/cooling systems on the roof. One bedrooms are worth the extra $ over studios.

This was our fourth stay at this resort.

Getting there: We have never felt the need to have our own car as there are multiple options for the transfer from Vancouver Airport and we use taxis for transport around the resort. Therefore, if you bring a car, you'll be paying for parking which is very expensive and you need to ask yourself whether or not you you will actually use your car once you have arrived in Whistler. We use the Pacific Coach bus service to get to Whistler $63 one-way, $113 return (allow 3.5 hrs each direction) and we use private taxi to transfer back to the airport $300, up to six passengers (allow maximum 2.5 hours) as the private taxi leaves much later, at a time you specify and you can gain an extra two hours of skiing on the hill rather than sitting in a coach while it drags itself around Vancouver Downtown, via multiple stops- you have been warned!

This time we stayed in an executive room; the bedroom is seperate from the living room and dining area. We directly faced the Whistler Gondola and the views were stunning. The only disadvantage about a room on this end of the hotel is that unless you wear earplugs you will be woken by early morning delivery trucks. During this stay, on the Sunday, Whistler had 30cm of rain (bye bye powder!) and our ski jackets and ski pants were soaking wet. The fire in the room provided sufficient heat to dry all our clothing overnight which impressed us greatly. The room was clean, well maintained and the bathroom was huge. We opted to decline housekeeping on two nights of our stay and the Westin credited out account with $5.00 per night for doing so.

As we stayed at the start of the season, the hotel was being painted/re-furbished. Most of the staff were new and the hotel was very quiet indeed. All the staff we encountered were polite, very well trained and if they were unable to answer a query, would find someone who could. The outdoor pool and jacuzzi were sparkling clean and the indoor jacuzzi was piping hot- and very popular!

Extras you will have to pay for: $16.00 per day for ski valet. Guests are not permitted to store skis in the room. As the rooms are small, there is limited space to stand the skis up in so there is a high probability that you will either fall over them or damage the wallpaper/furniture. For $16, the skis are stored securely overnight and the valet collects them from you at the bottom of the hill from late afternoon onwards.

We did not have any issues with "unexpected extras " on our bill. It was accurate.

Room tip: Executive suites are large and have a bedroom seperate from the kichen, dining area and lounge.

I found my room at the Westin Whistler very comfortable - the bed was lovely, and the bathroom was quite nice as well. However, I will not be staying here again. There were additional charges for everything from parking to internet to ski valet (required, as skis are not allowed in rooms). I am an annual visitor to Whistler, and we decided to try to Westin to mix things up: what a mistake. Next year I'll be going back to the Pan Pacific Mountainside.

Chose to stay here due to a free night at a Westin Resort promotion that ran earlier this year. The Westin Whistler was the only "resort" outside of Vancouver that was anywhere near us.

This was my second stay at the hotel.

My first stay we were provided with a miniscule room. This stay we were provided with a mini suite. This means an average sized hotel room. There was a king bed, a sofa and a comfortable chair. The room also had a 32" tv, fireplace, and a small kitchen area. There was a regular sized bathroom with a very small bathtub (you should be under 5' to use this tub). The shower head was not a traditional "Westin" head. There is also a washer and dryer on most floors. The Mini bar price for laundry soap was only $5.00! Yikes.

The one problem we had was with the AC. The temperature could not be set below 19 Celsius. This combined with the luxurious down blankets on the bed made it tough to sleep. The one annoyance was where the TV was located - above the fireplace. It was a little difficult to watch the TV from bed while drinking our morning coffee.

Parking is by valet and is now $38.00 per day (plus 12% tax!).

All of the staff were great including the restaurant. We chose to have breakfast in the restaurant the next morning. The buffet was decent and service pretty good.

For the price alone this hotel is right up there. You can't beat the location for access to the mountain right outside your door for skiing.

Room tip: Ask for a tower room.
