Just returned from a work trip to Canada and the USA and spent 5 nights at the Westin at Whistler.

Pros:
- Very neat and tidy hotel and beautiful lobby and clean rooms.
- Heavely beds are amazing and i wanted to take mine home, the bedding is also amazingly comfortable. It is available to purchase but at a price.
- Good kitchen facilities (Junior Suite), perfect for cooking simple meals and storing food.
- Great views from the east tower (level 10)
- Very quick room service and you receive fresh towels every day plus complimentary chocolates (and delicious choco covered strawberries on arrival)\
- Free shuttle around the village (what i assume was free but may have been a hidden "resort fee")

Cons:
- Skis/snowboards were not permitted in the room and the onyl other available option was Ski Valet which was $8 per day. I found this very un reasonable, if you are paying to stay at the hotel you should not have to pay extra to store your skis. The hotel needs to either allow them in the rooms or have optional free ski lockers with padlocks on them which customers can access on their own.
- NO FREE INTERNET, found this rediculous!!! you can go and sit in a restaurant and they even give you free wireless! We had to go to Starbucks every morning to keep updated and just to do personal banking.
- 18% gratuity added to room service which is not optional. From what i was aware tipping is supposed to be optional and based on the service you receive. I personally would not like to pay 18% on top of a very expensive food bill for poor service. Luckily we received fast and friendly service when we ordered breakfast one day.
- Junior suites do not provide dining tables, had to eat dinner either in bed or on the couch

Overall it is a very lovely hotel and i would recommend it, but would advise that you go with a bit of extra money to account for all of th fees that are not mentioned when you book.

Room Tip: Junior Suites are perfect for two people staying a short time. For a longer stay i would recommend a larger room with a living/dining room.

My husband and I stayed in the junior suite for a week. The room was the perfect size for a couple. The room easily accommodates a king bed, couch (may be a pull-out), a desk and a galley style kitchen. There is also a gas fireplace that adds nice ambiance. The Westin's junior suite is definitely bigger than the Pan Pacific Mountainside's studio style rooms (with murphy beds). Like the Pan Pacific, the Westin is located right at the based of the mountain and cannot be beat in terms of location. The hotel amenities at the Westin, including the lounge, are not as luxurious as the Fairmont, but the price and location make up for this. Overall, the Westin is a good pick if you're looking for a comfortable and clean room in an excellent location.

The westin is Whistler is such a nice beautiful and convieneant hotel because we get the the penthouse suites and have ski retals and keep your ski's over night and the ski mountain is right outside the hotel so i live it there as i go there with my family once a year for two weeks as we live in Thailand

Room Tip: The Suites to view the mountains are just beautiful on a sunny day!

The staff are wonderful and the hotel a solid 4.5 star and you can not ask for a better location. The rooms are a touch small for a hotel of this class . The kitchen is a nice touch but it would be nice if they supplied it with a few basics so you would not have to buy everything that you will never take with you or finish. The internet is very slow and when doing work from the hotel is a problem. They do also nickel and dime a bit too much for a relatively expensive property. All said a good stay and would reccomend it
