“Superb place to stay”
Reviewed 29 February 2012

Picking the right place to stay is key to any holiday, we picked the Crystal Lodge after recommendations from friends, they were not wrong.
We arrived pretty late at night due to the usual delays, Hannah behind the desk was friendly and helpful, Andy who carried our bags was just the same, giving you all the info you require for your stay in the Crystal and for Whistler.
1.Bed-super Kings size, very comfy, clean and very big, plenty of pillows.
2.Bathroom, clean and the usual things, hairdrier. clothes line etc etc, over the bath shower was adequate ( maybe lacked a little water pressure ) not a major issue.
3.Room is a reasonable size, good sized LCD TV, fridge, clock alarm with ipod dock, maid service every day so far.
There are 2 maybe 3 places to eat in the Crystal, Rics grill and the Old Spaghetti factory but we have eaten out every night so far, not for any other reason than we like to.
Ski room in the lobby, they label your ski/board and you just ask for room number and the guy goes and gets them, boots and poles stay in your room.
Outside pool and hot tub is brilliant, this evening after a hard day, we swam and sat in the tub, sun was shining and its a great way to ease aching muscles.
Hotel is 3 mins walk from Whistler and Balckcomb Gondolas, all bars and shops and supermarket are on the doorstep,
I cant compare it to other hotels in Whistler, but so far its been great and should we return, wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
Maybe the only slight minus as some other reviews have said, the street is a little close and the usual late night revellers "may" disturb you a little, but not bothered us.

This hotel was good, but nothing special. The room was big with a kitchen which was a plus, but that was about it. Service was good, the location was good, and the hotel was just good! A great place to stay on business, and a great place to just sleep in while spending your days out.

We spent 4 nights at the Crystal Lodge while snowboarding in Whistler. Its locations is unbeatable. Its a two minute walk to the Whistler Blackcomb chair lifts. This area of the village is so alive with people. Its the place to be for apres ski to people watch and enjoy sunsoaked patios.

The hotel is clean and quiet. Everything you need is at your door step. When we return this is where we will stay.

We loved it.

Room Tip: third floor rooms have high ceilings

The Crystal Lodge is in the perfect location - right on the Village Stroll, steps away from the lifts, restaurants, bars, and shops. We love that about it. But having said that, our first night, a Saturday, was horrible. Around midnight the whoops and hollers began on the Village Stroll below and did not end until around 2:30 a.m. (Apparently it is the sound of the young people's weekend mating calls as they leave the bars.) The Crystal Lodge guests also have no qualms about talking at the top of their lungs in the hallway, both in the middle of the night and in the early morning. It was a little quieter during the week, but we learned our lesson and bought ear plugs at the drugstore just the same. We had two adjoining units - a unit with a Murphy bed and one with a Loft. Each unit sleeps 4 people, but really offer privacy for only 2, and would have been very crowded with 4 people in each. The units are clean and in good condition, but don't expect luxury. Furnishings are in good repair; nothing fancy. The Loft unit has little natural light. It has a small kitchen, but inexplicably no table and chairs, and no fireplace or deck. There is a bit more privacy in the Loft unit since 2 can sleep downstairs in the pull-out couch. The Murphy bed unit is roomier, has a larger kitchen, full-size refrigerator, table and chairs for 4, huge bathroom, deck with mountain view, and fireplace. But the sleeping arrangements are odd. The Murphy bed is right next to the fold-out couch. O.K. if you have young kids, but weird with another couple. Hotel staff is friendly and helpful. Parking below is ample, dry and warm. The hotel will store your skis. After skiing, relax in the outdoor jacuzzi or try the outdoor lukewarm/cool pool.

Room Tip: If staying on a weekend, get ear plugs..

'Arewehavingfunyet', thank you very much for taking the time to post your detailed account of the Crystal Lodge following your recent stay. We are disappointed to read that the village noise caused your party a disturbance on your first night. As much as municipal by-laws are very strict with after-hours noise levels, this particular evening was obviously not monitored closely. We look forward to the opportunity to welcome you back in the future. Kind regards, Ian Lowe.
