Perfect Whistler getaway!

Review of Sundial Hotel
5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Jan 5, 2025
Amazing experience! Great location - right beside the gondola and a ton of restaurants … and top notch staff and service (Kristyn, Harry and Roxy among others). Rooftop hot tub is a must and the kids loved the hot chocolate station in the lobby. We’ll be back for sure.

Best place to stay in Whistler Village! Cannot beat the location, with both the village and the slopes out the back door. The staff was exceptional. Louis greeted us warmly and set the tone for the entire wonderful experience. He also gave great recommendations.

The housekeeping was also fantastic. They came in and replenished all the supplies each day, even refilling the water basin in the Nespresso machine! The kitchen had everything you need.

I took advantage of the laundry room in the basement- approximately $8 to wash and dry a load (through an app on phone), but the hotel provides free detergent and dryer sheets.

Black Tie Ski Rentals in the building was also fantastic. So awesome to valet the skis and wander into the lobby for the best ever hot chocolate bar! Such a treat!

So grateful we chose this gem is a spot for our first vacation in Whistler.

Room tip: Rent skis through Black Tie Ski Rentals in the building

Kristyn and Tom are AMAZING!!! I have never had such an incredible experience at a hotel. From Ashton at Blacktie to Kristyn at the Front Desk and all the way to Tom first greeting us. Everything was 10/10 - 5 stars! Excellent. I felt like all my needs were taken care of - I mean even when I request extra coffee pods and housekeeping brought it up in a paper bag. It’s the small details that matter. I LOVED the hot chocolate bar every day 2-4pm. The view and personal hot tub was perfection after a long ski day. If I had to pick one tiny thing to improve it would be for Longhorn’s to turn their music down a little LOL I will continue to recommend the Sundial Hotel for MANY years to come. It will be incredibly hard to top this experience.

Room tip: Longhorn’s Bar is pretty loud even when the windows are closed

Dear Jordan,

From everyone at the Sundial, especially Ashton Kris and Tom, we are so thankful for your review, and are over the moon to receive a glowing 10/10!

We love the small details here at the Sundial, it's a pillar of ours to do our best to make every little moment and experience count, so it is incredibly encouraging to hear that did not go unnoticed.

We also completely hear what you're saying about the music from surrounding establishments, and we do our best to maintain good relationships with them all so that every visitor can enjoy Whistler for the myriad of experiences it has to offer. We will continue to try and grow these relationships so that a good balance can be struck.

Thank you for your continued support, and we are exctied to keep welcoming you back for many years to come! We know it will be hard to top this experience, but we love a challenge!

Kind regards,
Harry

Staying at Sundial Hotel was the highlight of our winter trip. We booked a hot tub suite and it was worth it for the extra space and convenience of being able to walk outside and enjoy the cold fresh in your own hot tub. Staff was amazingly helpful, and we took advantage of the daily pastries and hot chocolate in the lobby as well as the great proximity to village activities. Our ski rentals were right in the hotel with full ski valet services in though Black Tie, across the way was a place for zip lining and an escape room, and lots of nearby bars and restaurants. We ended up hitting up the grocery store across town and making a handful of meals in the suite as well as it was well appointed with a nice kitchen area and plenty of pots, pans, and dinnerware. Everything was clean and comfortable, even the sofa bed our daughter slept in by the fire each night. What was best is that being a boutique hotel in never felt crowded and was a quiet and peaceful home base from otherwise busy days of skiing and winter activities. Thank you Sundial staff for making our stay exceptional!

Room tip: Being in the heart of the village, the surrounding area can get noisy at night depending on what side of the courtyard your rooms face

My first trip to Whistler was incredible! It was made all the better by the incredible hospitality and high-level of service I encountered at Sundial. Ceris, Harry and Tom were wonderfully welcoming hosts and always made the effort to go above and beyond for me during my stay. The lodging accommodations, private hot tub and Molton-Brown lotion (best smelling lotion ever) will bring me back to Sundial, if I get to visit again.

Room tip: Make sure to utilize the newly added Black Tie ski valet located in the hotel! Location is perfect proximity to the slopes.

Amazing hotel, worth the $$. Our 2 bedroom room suited the family perfectly. We had a full kitchen and even a fireplace. Ski lifts were just a few steps from the front door. Views of the slopes were spectacular and all staff were kind and helpful. Special mention to Tom, a fellow Aussie, who was always up for a chat and gave us lots of ideas to make our stay even better. Thank you!
