Owner description: Located above Whistler Village on the side of Blackcomb Mountain, the Whistler Sliding Centre is a world-class bobsleigh, skeleton and luge facility. Today, winter visitors can tick bobsleigh or skeleton off their bucket lists in the public sessions. The venue is also home to the BC Sliding Development Centre, which offers programming for all skill levels in bobsleigh, skeleton and luge. It is a National Training Centre and training venue for athletes from all over the world. The venue still hosts races for the elite of sliding athletes, upcoming highlights will be the Viessmann Luge World Cup (Nov/Dec) and the IBSF Bobsleigh & Skeleton World Championships (Feb/Mar). In summer, guests can participate in bobsleigh rides on wheels or join daily guided tours. Year-round, Olympic Sightseeing is available free of charge through a self-guided interpretive tour.

Great experience as a professional bobsleigh pilot steers you through a series of curves in a bobsled on wheels! Event includes a safety orientation and a tour of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games venue. Walk the track and learn about the track maintenance. Reached 85 km/hr and felt the thrill of Thunderbird Corner! Hollie was our pilot and she did a great job of sharing experiences, providing a great ride, and answering questions. Tour group was about 10 people and bobsleigh rides were in groups of 2 to 3 people plus the pilot.

We did this as a group of friends complete with the sliding centres driver. So fast and exciting, This gives an insight to the speed and difficulty of bobsleigh driving. Our bobsleigh completed the run in the fastest time of the day

We booked a bobsleigh “rolling thunder” activity for the morning, and I was a bit nervous! However I could have spent all day here! The guided walk of the track was great and we learnt a lot about the track and its build and continued use, as a chemist the use of ammonia as a refrigerant was interesting. More importantly however we then we got to have a go! I could definitely do more of this but sadly the northeast of England doesn’t exactly have many tracks... either way I cannot recommend this enough, it’s a real one off chance and so much fun! My only complaint is only getting to have a go once! Thanks for a fab experience guys!

What can I say.... we has such an amazing time. Jim was our tour guide and was very informative as we walked down a portion of the track. We had Snowy as our driver. He was super funny and also full of knowledge. If you ever had the chance to visit, I highly recommend it! You won’t be disappointed!
