Beautiful hotel in a great setting. Staff are lovely, and special thanks for the fantastic service from Darren on the concierge desk who was very helpful. Rooms are very spacious and comfortable. The turndown staff were very good and seemed to do a much better job than the day housekeeping. The food at the Sidecut restaurant is excellent.

Dear HighMaintenance2015,

Thank you for your kind comments. Between our staff providing efficient and helpful service to SIDECUT offering an inspiring culinary menu, it sounds as though your stay left nothing to be desired. We thoroughly enjoyed your company, and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

As a part of our Rocky Mountaineer 3 day journey we stayed at the beautiful 4 Seasons Hotel in Whistler. Truly a great experience with lovely rooms and a great atmosphere. Located within easy walking distance of downtown Whistler or you can take the regular free shuttle but from the hotel to town. Certainly recommended if you are visiting Whistler.

This hotel was brilliant , one of the best I have stayed in anywhere, only negative would be the price of valet parking, but if you park in whistler the shuttles from the hotel are excellent, and staff are very helpful.

The lobby and public areas are really nice with a wood carver and artist at work when we were there. The room is lots of dark wood and ours was really spacious and lovely bathroom. It was just one hotel in our trip around West Canada and was way above anything else we stayed at. Free shuttle into the centre works well or it is also a pleasant walk. Just be careful with the parking as valet parking is quite expensive. Probably not easy to find an alternative in winter but in summer the day parks are close by at 5 dollars a day. Food is good value in Whistler, lots of choice and high end is also available. The hotel food looks really good but we opted out of breakfast at £40 plus dollars each.

I stayed at this property while attending a conference in Whistler. This means I was not able to enjoy many services of the hotel, so this review is written with the perspective of a business traveler.
The hotel itself probably deserves 6 stars. It is a top class resort with each and every single detail taken care of. Public spaces are cozy and incredible clean. Rooms are top-notch with details like gas fireplace, balcony, a bed and pillows to die for, a beautiful bathroom with all you need and more, and a walk-in closet almost as large as the room itself.
Special mention to the hotel staff. Very young people with the right attitude, cheerful, and genuinely interested in your happiness. With so many people coming and going, the person at the main door called me by my name the second day. Outstanding.
However, with high quality comes high expectations. Although not enough to take out points, there are three things of note that could have made this a 7 star experience instead of 5. First, there is no self-parking and the valet parking option costs $45 per day. That’s almost as expensive as parking in downtown Manhattan! For a $300+ night rate you may expect a small piece of land to park your car does not come at such a high cost. On the flip side, the hotel offers a free shuttle that runs on a schedule down to the village and a house car that can be requested on demand. Therefore, taking your car up to the hotel may not be needed at all! Also, the walk down to the village is a 15-20 min stroll that many people enjoy. I certainly did.
Second, the hotel has a restaurant in premises but it is a high end steakhouse only open for dinner. This leaves a hungry guest waking up in a hurry with no options for a decent breakfast other than a pricey $40 room service order. You are way better off going down to the village and get a 5 star breakfast in a nice restaurant for half the price.
Finally, and again a small detail from a business traveler perspective, the room has no work desk. Of course, you can always go out to the balcony, fire up your computer and work while looking at the beautiful mountains surrounding the property.
Overall, a 6 star rating for the hotel evens the 4 rate for the small details mentioned above and averages a well-deserved 5 star rating.
