We went to Red Bistro last night Friday 6th January and it was amazing.
It is a small restaurant so it feels really special to go there. The waiters are attentive and the seafood bouillabaisse is Devine.. probably the best I have ever had.. we also had their special crab cakes for entree and truffle fries and it was delicious.

We ate here last night and had been excited about going, given all the previous reviews, and it did not disappoint. We were looked after extremely well by Jennie who took time to explain all the dishes and also the local wines. It was a busy night so we waited a little bit for our starters but after that the meal ran very smoothly and was excellent value.

We all ate different things but each dish was beautifully cooked and flavoursome. The mussels were stunning and the wild boar was cooked perfectly. We could not find a fault in any of the dishes. I would happily go back again but it does get booked up early so the key is to be organised.

After many reviews, I booked back in October for a January 2nd seating - the earliest they had for our December 30th to January 4th trip - they book up fast, plus, it's not a big restaurant - and so glad I did.

Food
Scrumptious! We had the truffle fries $9.00 - delicious and Duck Confit spring rolls $14.50 - different and delicious! New York Steaks - scrumptious and the Sole dinner special - so light yet so tasty - the sole and sauce were mouth watering! Dessert - Cream Brûlée and Bete Noir - both amazing!

Wine/Drinks
Nice wine list and decent availability per glass. The BC Bella sparkling was very fun and tasty and the red, whites and beer all very good.

Service
Excellent and Down to Earth - Loved our waiter. Loved the help - very friendly and subtle (changing knives, clearing items... ) and Karen was very prompt via e-mail reservations.

Ambiance
So charming - reminds me of a European bistro - smaller restaurant (which adds to the charm) yet easy to get around the table and not feeling cramped. Very cozy!

Highly recommend!

What a treat! Everything was perfect. Ambiance, watching the chefs, all the wonderful smells. We tried the duck spring rolls - unbelievably good. We all tried something different so we could taste and it was never enough of anything - what a great find.

Our family of 5 enjoyed an amazing dinner here and also it was very reasonable for Whistler at about $60 a head including wine.
Our entrees included truffle fries , Red Door greens, Quebec foie gras, and calamari all delicious and price range $9-24 but the most sensational entre was the Salt Spring Island Mussels...steamed in garlic, white wine, with a dash of chile...a must to try..this dish was simply superb.
For mains we had a selection from traditional veal porterhouse $37 and New York steak $38 ...tender and delightful.
My Icelandic Ling Cod was so delicious and brilliantly presented as medallions in a ginger dashi broth with wilted spinach...by far the most amazing cod I have tasted $28. Others had the chick pea stew and bouillabaisse. We finished our meal with delectable creme brulee and flourless chocolate sponge.
Be sure to book well ahead as the food at Red Door is divine and its so popular.
