We had reservations in the train car but it was such a beautiful evening, we opted to sit outside on the patio. Good choice.....nice seating arrangement, no bugs and plenty of shade and flowers. Server, Curtis, was very friendly and took the time to chat. House wines were Chilean and good. Complimentary bread basket offered 3 varieties of bread and came with a garlic balsamic/olive oil dip.The Ceasar salad was one of the best I have had lately.....crisp romaine, amazing maple bacon pieces, shaved Parmesan, grilled baguette slices and a great traditional dressing. It was big enough to share. The rack of lamb was done to perfection and the Saskatoon glaze was great. Potato wedges, fresh veggies (asparagus and broccoli) and a very zesty mint relish accompanied the meal. It was excellent! The pickerel with the lemon caper sauce was also very tasty. It was a large serving of fish (2 fillets) and it came with plenty of crisp ricotta gnocchi, spinach, mushrooms, and the green veggies. It was a large meal! It was very good but perhaps a tad too buttery for my liking. Desserts looked amazing but we had no room left. All in all a most pleasant dining experience in a historic setting.
