We had some time to waste on an overcast afternoon, so we headed to the Forks. It has change since my last visit, and the architecture of the new National Museum of Human Rights is very impressive. The views of the river are always soothing.

The building structure is what catches my attention first. It is magnificent. Kids and adults will enjoy. Nice to know abt. History. Will definitely recommend

The Forks is a great place to visit in the summer as the outside sites are great too! you can go down and walk by the river on the riverwalk... feed the ducks/geese there, you can take a water taxi to another area along the river, or just for fun. You have to walk through the inside of the Forks for a great variety of foods, from fish and chips to chinese, to poutine, to burgers and hot dogs, plus a couple of great restaurants to choose from also. There is a lookout you can go up to and view the river and the other side of the river. There are also many things to see outside as well, there is usually something going on for entertainment, especially in the summer months. There are a couple of outside riverside bars as well that you can dine at and enjoy the weather. There are also many stores where you can buy wines, baked goods, clothing, souveniers, etc. There is the childrens museum on the grounds as well as the Johnston Terminal where the Old spaghetti factory is and some clothing stores etc. You have to make a stop at the Forks. Oh i can't leave out the Human Rights Museum that is also in the Forks area as well. There are many other things to see, but too many to mention! (Oh for kids or those who love candy and chocolate, there is the Candy Train in front of the Forks where you can find all kinds of goodies).
Visit the Travel Manitoba booth to take some fun pictures, learn about the history of Winnipeg from Parks Canada, and then hop on the Winnipeg Trolley tour. Once you are back, get some yummy food and do some great shopping. A wonderful afternoon visit.
It has such charm to the place. From shopping to eating and walks along the river. So many people young and old enjoy this peace of heaven in the middle of the city
