My husband and I stayed for one night on Oct. 1, 2011 following a wedding that we attended. Included in the $99/night price was parking, internet and a warm buffet breakfast. Unbelievable value, especially compared to nearby downtown hotels. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable, with all of the necessities. Not fancy by any means, but definitely checked all of the boxes. The staff was friendly. Also worth noting, is that we did not see any sketchy characters lurking nearby, so we felt very safe. The only downside for some may have been that the pool was out of service and that there did not appear to be room service. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in downtown Winnipeg.

It seems that many people understimate this hotel as it is not as famous or it does not look as glamorous from the outside as the Fort Garry, Inn at the Forks or the Delta downtown. However, when you take all things in consideration, this hotel is a great value. Some of the little things I look for in a hotel are: stopper for the sink in the bathroom, wash cloth, free local calls, good noise insulation between rooms, double glazed windows to keep noise out. This hotel has all of these and more: a night light in the bathroom, if you have to get up during the night (a nice touch!), ironing board and iron, grab bar in the bath tub. The rooms and bathroom are large, there is also a mini fridge and a microwave. This hotel also includes a breakfast, consisting of fruit salad (real fruit cut up, not from a can), muffins, bread, cereal and some hot item such as eggs, french toast, and meat (always pork, so you have to forego this item if you don't eat pork).
The only negative thing I have to say is that the curtain in the bedroom has seen better days, but other than that I recommend the hotel. By the way there is a small exercise room and a jacuzzi with a swimming pool.
Have a good stay if you go to Winnipeg!

Room Tip: Take a room at the back, facing the parking lot, otherwise it may be too noisy, if you are sensitive to it.

Great location and really great value for the price. Have stayed several times and always satisfied. Since they bought this property from Hampton they have managed to keep Hampton's high standards but at a price I suspect is much lower than would be the case if it was still a Hampton property. Lots of restaurants of all kinds within walking distance. Also The Forks area is pretty well just across the street.

Room Tip: East side on busy noisy street. If you like to have open windows select West side. At the same time the view is better from the East side.
