We ordered about 10 different items from the DAGON PALACE MENUE & everything was delicious! We dined on ginger beef, honey glazed veal, mixed veggies, BBQ Chicken, etc & of course the Deluxe Fried Rice! The Dragon Palace offers speedy delivery and we order from them quite often!

We used to eat at Dragon Palace 10-12 times a year for dinner and another 6-8 times for lunch. It used to be the best Chinese restaurant in west Winnipeg but since the change in ownership several years ago it has been disappointingly inconsistent. I've reviewed this restaurant several times over the years. It's likely this review will be my last because after our most recent visit it's unlikely we'll go back. Two of our favourite dishes crystal garlic shrimp and the deluxe chow mien didn't taste the way they usually do. In fact, they didn't taste very good at all, both had a unpleasant sour taste. I asked if the regular chef was away and the server insisted that the regular chef had prepared the food. We told the server we were disappointed with these dishes but there was no apology or offer to take them off our bill. We've also discovered that the service is also inconsistent especially when the place gets busy. It hasn't been a problem lately because I notice the restaurant is rarely full any more. Friends who used to go to Dragon Palace stopped going about a year ago. I guess all good things must come to an end. I wish them well, but we won't be back.

For the last few years we have been getting Chinese food from Dragon Palace on Christmas Eve for dinner (take-out order). The portions are good and the food very tasty. They also have quite a large selection of items to make for some variety in textures and flavours. My only gripe would be that the orders fall way behind on this busy take-out evening every year. Be prepared to wait! But its worth the wait.

Service is friendly, food is great and prices are reasonable.

Especially for a small, suburban outlet the food quality is exceptional and there are items on (and off) the menu which usually require trips to "Chinatown" type specialty restaurants.

The Deluxe Wonton soup is a huge bowl including pork, chicken, shrimp and of course Wontons which can easily serve as a meal for one or portion for 2 to 4.Pan fried or steamed dumplings are as good as anywhere and the Mooshi variants are exceptional.

They do a good job with lemon chicken (which is a great value in the meal specials and for takeout). Szechuan Ginger beef is a good choice. Pork in Hickory sauce is a special twist. The crystal chicken with garlic is as good as anywhere and better than most as is the Dragon Palace special Seafood.

Szechuan Shanhai Fried Noodles is the best in the noodles/chow mein/chow fan category.

Off menu they sometimes offer mango chicken and apparently offer (or used to) Peking duck with 2 days notice (the recipe requires this). At $50 for a full, multi course meal for several this also was an exceptional value. I have not tried it myself but heard good word of mouth from someone who had.

Hard to get much better but, like good Olympic judges I reserve the 5 star rating for places which simply can't get better.

Great value on the lunch menu. The jumbo wonton soup is amazing, cheap and a full meal in itself. There are many choices and options for you to choose from with many awesome combo plates.
